Technically Chael came the closest to beat Jones. Had he lasted 27 more seconds he would have been champ because Jones’toe injury would have been an injury TKO.

Sad way to win but it *technically* would have given the title to Sonnen.

The only reason Jones had to retreat was that he was standing on one foot when the punch landed. One of the most overrated punches ever.
