Name a fighter that has a lot of popularity but not as much talent

Bobby Green?
I feel like his fan base is decently sized and he’s always being hyped up as one of LW’s best strikers despite getting out struck pretty much every time he fights a fellow striker.

Not hating, I like this guy, but he won't go far.

Jim Fucking Miller
Nate Diaz

What is talent ? Nate was the slower and weaker fighter in every UFC match... But his brain and timing were good enough to get him some elite scalps and a title shot...

Jim Miller has made the most out of his tools... If "savagry" is part of talent.. if not... well...

Hell you could say the same about Rich Franklin. He was not a physical specimine with quick twitch, or consistent power... But his talent was smarts and heart.

Sexyama

Brock oozed talent but lacked actual garnered skill

lol at all you noobs saying Nate Diaz. Won his season of TUF. Beat Gomi, Cerrone, and Miller back to back to back. Fourth most submission wins in UFC history. Fifth most strikes landed in UFC history. Y'all just mad because he beat one of your favorite fighters.

At his best he was a gatekeeper level fighter. And the last few years of his run he wasn't even ranked. That's not to say he wasn't a good fighter, just that the popularity exceeded the talent.

And 13 losses, never had a belt. You don't need to be a noob to understand he's talented, but his popularity far exceeds his talent and in-cage success. This isn't even that hot of a take, shits been said for years.

No ones claiming he’s a bad fighter. But you have to admit his popularity does exceed his talent.

dude is 21-13 and many of those losses were absolutely humiliating, with out him landing a single strike in the entire 15-25 minutes...just absolutely drummings.

yes he is talented and far from a garbage fighter. but many casual fans think hes literally one of the best fighters, ever. that makes him a PERFECT fit for this question
