Are you referring to the Sanctions by the EU/US on Russia for Crimea? Because obviously those sanctions did Jack Shit.. and the EU was still dependent on Nord Stream 1 and 2 before they were bombed... lol. Likely by Ukraine or maybe the US, fucking the EU natural gas supply.

Same time frame, but direct warning to not rely on Russia for energy.

My point isn’t whether the EU listened, but that trump wasn’t the first to warn them.
