Elections Oregon DQ's 10 Republican State Senators From Running For Reelection

More Whippy Logic: "You can't prevent someone from having a job merely for refusing to do it!!"

More Sinister Logic: "It's alright to fix the system and deprive Americans from their representatives of choice, if they are Republicans."

You can't let those that vote for them (Republicans) decide to not let them return if they believe like you. You want the rest of the state (Democrats) to decide for them.

Americans see the Democrats in Oregon manipulating the system to take Republicans in mass off the ballots. They are depriving citizens of their representatives of choice.

The people of Oregon likely did not anticipate Democrats pushing extreme LGBTQ+ and Child Abortion laws repeatedly in the legislature to force the Republicans to walk out or endure having children get abortions with their parents never informed. Next session they can push out the new Republicans with votes on Euthanasia, forced vaccines, DEI in banking, special education attention to non-Whites, Global Taxation, or a myriad of things. The slippery slope is real, the Democrats have already figured this out and it's why we have this thread now.
Got it. You're not going to evaluate if Oregonians can self govern, you're going to evaluate if the politics match what you want and then dictate the right to self-govern only exists when you get what you want politically.

People pass a law. Politicians violate the law. Normal people say the politicians should be held accountable according to the law. Partisan psychos say that if the politicians are on their side the law should be ignored.

Classic stuff.

It's a rule in their constitution. This shouldn't be controversial.

And backed with a strong majority. It wasn't just the shit crazy libs, a lot of Republicans voted for this too.
Every day we get more and more signs that people on the far right really just want a dictatorship. They'll raise a stink every time a criminal isn't adequately punished for breaking the law. But the moment a politician they support gets in trouble, they think punishment is unacceptable.

And they make these arguments with a straight face. They are trolling the nation.

I was reading an interesting piece on the psychology of trolls. What they found is that trolls have very good self-esteem but they're socio and/or psychopathic. There's a huge element of truth to this. The more time I spend on the internet, the more the idea that trolls are low self-esteem or looking to bolster their egos doesn't jive with reality. But the idea that these are people who are intrinsically antisocial, lack empathy, remorse or other pro-social conditions to some degree really strikes home.

And it aligns with how the current Trump side of the political spectrum is behaving. They are not low self-esteem, they are low empathy, low pro-social behavior and intrinsically lack respect for others.

Hyper reactionary people tend to have a view of law and power as a zero sum game. It's extremely important for them, collectively, to feel in control of everyone they hate. The law exists to make sure that divide is upheld. When we use words like "justice" and "fairness", it means -literally- something different than when reactionaries use such things, because they view the world as naturally slanted toward themselves, so fairness itself is intrinsically unfair. That's why trying to make society more equitable, to have laws be applies equally, to share power at all is fought so hard; someone like Donald Trump (for example), and by extension themselves, is born to be better and it's therefore "unfair" to hold him to the same standards.

Out of curiosity, how many days do you think a person in Congress should be able to miss before they get in trouble?

You can't allow people to vote for the people they want. They can only vote for the people the majority allows.
They voted for the law they wanted and these people broke it. The penalty is clear and upheld by the SSC. Their constituents can vote for anyone else they please to that is eligible.

They can vote for Republicans who dont refuse to do their jobs for 6 weeks. Those that voted for Republicans contributed to the passing of this measure.

Just admit that you like obstructionism and be done with it.

Holy shit were you at our last commie satanic cabal socialist meeting where we discussed our agenda!? This is spot on what we are trying to do

Yeah how dare you vote on medicine, rights and equity for minorities, the right to die on one's own terms, and properly funding Governments.

Stupid Commie

Just admit that you like to deprive Americans of their candidates, if they are Republicans.

<TheWire1>

Because, that's how this plays with most of America.

Those districts are free to vote for another Republican. The proper way to show dissent it to vote no. Hatching schemes because your minority can't stand to lose just cripples the system and it's something that's become too prevalent over the last decade.
LMAO. Vote? As if it worked...
