Well just when I thought I saw it all, today I saw even more..
This morning at 7am, I got a call from a welder buddy of mine who shares work space with me in the shop I rent for my business. I usually get there at 7:30 and our work day starts at 8. Anyways, there was a dude who jumped the fence and was currently under my cube van (full to the brim with tools), passed out with a saw. Sound asleep. It was chilly this morning too.
My buddy wanted to know if we called the police or we just stomped him out. I would have loved to put the boots to the guy and made an example of him to his tweaker buddies but I already went down this path more than once and they never learn.
I called the police and they came, confirmed he was in fact alive and arrested him. He had halfway sawed through the pipe before passing out from drugs. I will be pressing charges and even if I didn’t, the police would anyways because he’s well known in the area for stealing.
I just got back from the station now (went in at 12). I’ve got a really shitty, grainy video I turned over of him jumping my fence in the dark so he was there for about 3 hours before being discovered. It’s kind of funny but I’m also mad.
Damn junkies ruin everything. When my new shop is completed, it will have the best security system I can buy but right now, I’m renting a shop. It is pretty secure and well lit though a sketch bag can come through the woods and jump my fence. Too bad I didn’t have a needle with fentanyl…
