Paul VS Floyd showed P4P is a nerd myth that doesn't exist in real life

there is a reason you dont hear p4p best basketball player/ any other sport.

its just a thing to hype up manlets.

I get your point, but that's mostly because in basketball and other team sports, weight doesn't matter.

OP better be wakling around wearing this

I'm so confused by all of this. Isn't Logan supposedly the better boxer than Jake? And yet Logan lost 2 bouts with a non-athlete random YouTuber.....and Jake handily beat actual athletes (not boxers obviously)...... but then Logan goes on to look decent against Floyd fucking Mayweather.

FML for actually knowing which Paul is which now, from all the media exposure.

But which one is actually the better boxer?

P4P is a garbage concept. How would Floyd fight if he had the reach of Fury and had to carry around his weight? What if he had the KO power of Wilder, would he have developed differently? What if he had been facing HWs his whole career, but he was also a HW himself, would he still be Floyd?

None of those questions has an answer even in principle, and it’s stupid to ask them. You can only evaluate a fighter against other fighters that he is willing to face and that fight in a division where you can at least hypothetically imagine them facing each other. The idea that you can dissociate someone’s skills from their physical existence and compare skill to skill in a purely abstract way is for the most part absurd and stupid, because almost every skill depends partially on physical characteristics, and physical aspects are part of what makes a fighter who he is.

The skills that make Lomachenko and Fury great are so different that it makes no sense to rank them or list them or compare them against each other, unless you’re comparing accolades in their respective divisions. Outside of a range of -/+ 10lbs or so, the concept of “P4P most skilled” or “who would win if they were the same size” is completely idiotic.

Mayweather is a very non-aggressive point fighter for a long time. He did what he does. Outpointed his opponent.
yeah outpointed him by biting on all of his fakes, not landing any significant punches and getting rocked and jabbed up. he didnt outpoint shit

Floyd could have just standed there the whole fight doing nothing and people would be like wow. look at his mastery. wow hes so elite. Actually thats pretty much what happened

This lmao

dudes used to say Allen Iverson is the P4P best basketball player b/c they knew he couldnt touch Shaq, Duncan, Kobe, TMac, KG, Dirk etc. Size matters.
AI beat Shaq in a 1 on 1 game at an All Star practice in like 03. Stole the ball from him twice and crossed him up every single time he tried.
Size didnt show up there.

Logan's going to get that soundbite of Floyd saying it was hard to land his jab and play that shit on loop until the end of time

Fight was a work.
Floyd's last 3 fights were works.
The last time I seen Floyd try was against Berto.
McGregor, Tenshin, Logan.
All fights Floyd squared up and just walked at them. And in every one of those fights, he throws a left hook in the air a foot in front of his opponents face as almost a way to signal, this isn't real.

This one was bad because Logan just wasnt good enough to do this.
The last 2 rounds, Floyd had to not do anything just to make this last.

I Hate P4P so much, its the most stupid thing ever in UFC. p4p comes from very old boxing, around the 1940's and it was not meant to be a serious thing, it was a joke thing, because there was a small boxer who was doing well and the guy joked on commentary there should be a p4p because he cant face or beat the much heavier guys.

Its such a stupid concept, and was not meant to be serious in the first place. p4p is so dumb. The best fighter is the guy who can beat all the others..
It was actually made because of how good Sugar Ray Robinson was.

No it's because sports like basketball doesn't have weight classes.

Diego Maradona was the worlds best football player and he was 5'5". Clearly size doesn't matter as much as skill when you talk about sports like football. So nobody talks about P4P in football. They don't even do it in rugby where you have a mix of relatively small and large players.

When you're a 44 year old man and fight a huge roided out young guy

Paul can not even box or fight and he went the distance with Floyd without getting hurt once.

We saw the same shit when Anthony Smith failed to incapacitate a drugged up WW home intruder. Meanwhile Derrick Lewis nearly killed a man for tryna carjack him.

At the end of the day P4P Usman, Max, Yan, Khabib etc. would get turned into a pretzel by the likes of Francis, Volkov, Stipe etc.

Thank you for sharing that you have no idea what P4P means.
