Paulo should've came out headhunting

Can’t headhunt when there’s no head to hit. Izzy constantly moved, never staying still, mounting offense, while countering everything Costa threw. It’s not so simple to just swing.
 
100% outskilled in there... Not effective engagement..
 
headhunting would of guaranteed an even earlier stoppage costa doesn't have the boxing or speed to deal with the much faster sniper that Izzy is
 
He would have gotten KO'D in the 1st. Lmao wtf you think he wouldnt have than that if he could?
 
What the hell? Don’t get me wrong I know it’s easier said than done but Costa was supposed to put pressure immediately and mix levels with his boxing. Instead he stands in kick range with Izzy and barely shows any urgency to close range. Awful gameplan bruh.

You don't think Costa wanted to knock Adesanya's head off?

He couldn't because Adesanya restricted with him his reach and overall better standup ability. Adesanya has fought in Glory. He's seen this type of thing before.
 
Terrible terrible fight IQ, was he not watching the previous fight? He needed to back up Izzy by cutting off the cage, faint more, make izzy fear the takedown. He stayed in the outside waiting for izzy to commit, but izzy is a counterpubcher that's happy to use his long limbs and chop you up from the outside.

Costa wasnt head hunting... he threw nothing
 
His best bet was to put the pressure on and force Izzy to exchange. Make it dirty, mix in some takedowns. I think his footwork was a little too basic to effectively cut Izzy off though, but I would have liked to see him force the issue a bit more. Instead he stood at kicking ranging which is exactly where Izzy thrives. Terrible performance.

The second he closed the distance Izzy dipped outta there. Costa couldn’t find an opening. Can’t headhunt when there’s no head to hunt. Izzy was a mobile target.

On top of that, he absolutely demolished his legs from the first second of the fight.

You can put on a poker face all you want but consistently eating kicks like that for an entire round will absolutely cripple your movement, ability to mount a normal offense and make you extremely hesitant to throw.

Fighters like Izzy have so many weapons and give you a million things to think about every time you attempt to pull the trigger. Many Jones fights are like this as well.

Truly a nightmare style matchup for someone who is pure offense and threatens primarily with his hands.

Fighting someone on that level will definitely make you hesitant as well. If he was to have any chance whatsoever, he needed to not give him that much respect.
