Poor DDP

It seems like dricus has a nack for getting under guys skin while barely trying or barely getting emotionally invested himself, and then his composure in the situations just bothers his opponents even more.
This!
I used to know a kid like tha in school.
one of the nicest people iv ever known, he shined inside and out & radiated light and positivity everywhere.
But theres something about him that could make the toughest bully lose his shit.

His relationship with his coach is a little sus like Strickland says tho. Also another reason why DDP got so defensive at the presser after Strickland brought it up

timestamp

Only one that got defensive was hypocrite Strickland, whose whole argument about the situation is absolutely ridiculous when you see this asshat on video, making fun of his child abuse and others needing to be abused as children to be "manly" like him.

He's exposed himself for what he is over the past couple weeks.

There's no doubt Dricus got defensive

An example of not getting defensive would be Wonderboy with Colby. Wonderboy genuinely doesn't care Lol

Nah. He just gave bullyboy a taste of his own medicine and in typical bully fashion, started sulking and sooking and tried to spin it to make himself the victim.

Dricus exposed the shit out of this guy. Strickland's whole shtick basically got destroyed by a few words uttered from Dricus' mouth

Here's the thing:

Dricus is white, but claims to be African. He may be South African -- a nationality -- but he's not African. He's white/European.

To everyone else in the world, African and black are synonymous. But for some stupid, self-defeating reason, white people continue to believe that civic nationalism is meaningful. It isn't. And everyone except white people understands this.

The other fighters attack him for racism. They don't want an african fighter with a ufc belt. He may become the first african fighter from africa with an ufc belt and the fighters don't want that.

This. First time an African is threatening to take a UFC belt.

Yeah both guys got pretty triggered, it's just Dricus is better at hiding it.

You don't come back with such a low blow like bringing up childhood abuse if you aren't triggered and upset.

Those that have been attacking Dricus are just racist and jealous of the African Godking.

It just shows Dricus knows how to push buttons. I dont think he cares what Sean thinks about his sexuality

He laughed about it while Sean has now completely lost the plot on who he is.

Anyone else read "here's the thing" in sean strickland's voice?

I think Strickland also got under DDP's skin by calling him out for the fake injury to which DDP responded by mocking him for being abused as a child.
That's not what happened though. Dricus' response was to tell Sean that he only took the title shot because he was ranked low and knew he wouldn't get the chance to fight for the title otherwise. He on the other hand is confident that he can make it to the top and fight for the belt sooner or later. That's all Dricus said at that point and he was as cool as a cucumber when he said it.

That was all before he brought up the childhood abuse. Strickland bringing up the fake injury and the weird relationship with his coach likely got him heated enough to resort to the low blow about being abused.

Just because he's able to act calm doesn't mean he isn't upset.

Because he’s so boring.

I forgot he even existed.

Here's the thing:

You can't claim that all colors belong to a civic nationality aka American or Canadian but then draw a different distinction when it's a white guy born and raised in Africa. Your line of thinking is exactly what divides nations, claiming people don't belong because of their skin color. Imagine people saying a black American isn't a real American. Sounds pretty racist to me.

They always trying to put an African brother down smh!

Charlize Theron had a great bit with Tracy Morgan during an SNL opening monologue about the two of them being treated differently due to both (I believe that she hd already been naturalized) being African American.
It was tame by 2023 standards; but very funny stuff at the time.

I think the biggest issue is him claiming izzy, francis and usman aren't real africans. A white dude whos family was likely part of apartheid saying that is pathetic.

He didn't say they're not real Africans, he correctly pointed out that he would be the first true African UFC champion - that is, the first belt holder to be representing an African country, living and training there. Adesanya represents New Zealand, Usman represents the US (what country did he represent in wrestling?), Ngannou represented France. It seems racial tension interferes with people's sense in how this simple aspect of sports works.

The opposite of true is fake...not real. So if they're not true africans to him then they're fake. Usman , the guy that comes out with a nigerian flag and goes by the nickname nigerian nightmare represents the united states? lol Usman represents nigeria and africa more than DDP ever has. Ngannou the guy that sports cameroon mouthguard and flag when he comes out and hosts mma camps in cameroon after winning the title and hosts mma camps there and sports the flag represents france? Just because someone grew up in another contitent it doesn't erase where they were born. They are real africans and they represent africa. You and I both know why you have the opinion you do. You're just too much of a coward to come out and say it.

They don't represent Africa, just look at the flags next to their names next time. It's something so incredibly simple yet you seem to have trouble understanding this.

You're still not getting it, but also I didn't directly quote DDP so you might want to go review what DDP actually said. Not true Africans means something completely different than not true African UFC champions. DDP only ever commented on the latter.

How does Usman represent Africa more than DDP? Usman has lived most of his life in the US. Adesanya has lived most of his life in New Zealand. Not one of those 3 fighters ever legitimately represented an African country in MMA. You represent the country you live and train in, it's that simple. DDP has only ever lived and trained in South Africa. He would be the first African UFC champion should he win the belt - not the first African BORN champion, but the first champion to be representing an African country. This is a simple fact that eludes you due to racial tension and being overly emotional about this.

Kamaru Usman's wrestling career. How come he wasn't representing Nigeria?
