Pop up ads from sherdog or malware?

I've been occasionally getting some weird pop ups navigating sherdog. They're unlike the typical sherdog ads, but I'm only getting them when browsing these forums.

They're your typical, pop up out of nowhere, do like 2-3 quick redirects, vibrates the shit out of your phone, tells you that you're the winner of a contest while identifying the type of handset you're using, then trying to get you stuck in the pop up and making it difficult to back out of.

After typing all that out it clearly sounds like malware. But I've deleted all my browsing cache/cookies and run several different antivirus/malware scans and it hasn't made a difference. And it only seems to happen on these forums.


Anyone have similar issue on the forums using Mobile?

I don't have that problem but I believe that was a problem with the previous software as well. I would contact @Tachy or @Lethal should the problems persist.

I have the same fucking thing. No other site does this. It's fucking annoying. I have no clue how this happens on a phone.

Glad not the only one then. It's weird though, I won't get any pop ups for a couple days.... then all of a sudden it will happen like 5 times on one page in a single thread.

Same here. Tried blocking the site, but the iPhone 6S doesn't offer such a feature. May end up not surfing the site on my phone anymore.

Yeah, I have to do some crazy shit to actually see a page via mobile. Otherwise it's about 20 redirects to something that wants to download from the app store.

Looks like I'll be avoiding these forums on the ole smart phone for a while.

I have pretty much stopped using my iPhone when browsing, the pop ups are just too much. At times, it happens 4 times with in a minute and I simply close the tab and go to other sites.

sometimes it won't let me close it. It's a race to close it when i reboot the app. I'm afraid to browse sherdog on my phone.

Yup I made a thread about this before. I get this on my phone and only on sherdog. Often I can't back out of it and have to open a new tab. Rarely it just keeps redirecting every time I go back to sherdog, so I just can't browse sherdog from my phone that day.

On my S6 I don't actually get or see a pop up ad, it just straight up redirects. Most vibrate the shit out of my phone and also identify it as an S6. I've been redirected to the google app store a few times as well.

Sherdog is more pathetic then a two bit porn site from 10 years ago. Not even the scummiest of the scummy websites still try to force malware on you. This isn't a secret, it's their open business model, and they're not even ashamed of it. Every other site in the world can get by without forcing malware on it's visitors, it's beyond sad how craveonline thinks of the people that visit their site.
