ProElite Inc., the parent company of Elite Xtreme Combat, is expected to announce a deal with CBS that will put MMA on major network television for the first time.

Sources close to the deal tell MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) that an agreement has been reached between CBS and the California-based ProElite. However, officials could not publicly comment on the matter.

EliteXC was founded as a partnership with Showtime Networks Inc. in 2006. The organization

thats crazy i can't believe they beat out the ufc with getting fights on network television...good for them

I'll believe it when I see it.

I actually believe this...

UFC is really jobbing themselves with this creative control stuff.

Being on HBO would have been huge for ZUFFA, and honestly, HBO would have blown their current production values out of the water.

I can see that happening, they (CBS) wants to slowly educate people on MMA. So why not give the public an up and coming organization with fighters that are not as good as the UFC fighters. This is surprising being that CBS has done several news articles on the UFC and IFL; either by 60 minutes or their other news broadcasts.

IFL beat them both by getting on MyNetwork TV last year. Although they aren't on MyNetwork anymore, being on last year introduced a lot of viewers to the IFL and its stars. This is big news for EliteXC and it'll help them out a lot.

hopefully we'll get a live 3-5 fight card weekly

1. Dana can't get HBO deal
2. Dana can't get Fedor
3. Randy leaves
4. Dana can't get CBS deal
=> HAHA

I dunno about this... But I don't have Showtime, and being able to watch Cung fight Frank on network television would be pretty sick.

One question though... would the strippers and rap music stay apart of the event?
what about Goldberg?

Elite XC definitely has the fighters, but they're gonna have to professionalize the event to a greater degree if they want to go mainstream.

Cause if they keep it the way it is, Elite XC will probably pull off an XFL if you know what I mean

Excellent, this will be good for all MMA.

more free MMA the better, not to mention the mainstream exposure network TV will bring. Now all we need is more legit sponsors to jump on board to get kimbo more bread.

Keep in mind that they also have Alvarez, Yves, KJ, Daley (unless he actually retires), Kala Hose, Baroni, Silva, Brett Rogers, Shamrock, Fickett, and a working relationship with Strikeforce which has a pretty stacked roster as well (F. Shamrock, Cung, Masvidal, Melendez, etc)

This could mean big things for ProElite, especially considering their business model is a lot more realistic than the IFL's was.

Id rather watch CBS then pay for PPV's. Im sure they will still have MMA on showtime aswell.
