So 1 week ago I got cut from a clash of heads, a decent sized one at 2 1/2 cm long.
Got stitches and got it removed on monday.
Monday I stupidly sparred without headgear and it reopened although smaller now. Reglued it with shitty liquid bandage.
Tuesday went to bjj and did some jiujitsu, shit reopened again after basically nothing but a little rubbing probably. This time went to the ER and got the surgical stronger glue.

They said not to exercise or get it wet for a few days but I possibly have a fight Aug 3. Obviously I’m not going to be doing any contact but should I just not exercise?
What would fighters do in this situation? The only reason I’m kind of worried is because the ER doctors said they can only stitch it once and then said if the glue comes off that they won’t be able to glue it again either.

I would do pads running and shit

Aug 3 is two weeks away the main preparation should be done already.

Could even rest if you want imo

Short notice fight. Probably only got around 6-8 rounds of sparring in the past month. About the same amount of grappling

Become a friend to plastic suregon specialised on face tissues and skin. Wonders will not happen, at least a good advisor and prescr meds if necessary.
Sadly it might open in fight despite even top level specs efforts.

Put aloe on it to speed the healing and don't mess with it

Stuff you'd do on your own is what I do in situations like this

S&C
Pads (make sure your partner is not hitting you when they try to keep things "realistic")

Bagwork
Shadow

Your still young (i think?) ....there will always be another fight to take......pull out, and fight in september instead.

In the meantime for the next 2-3 weeks.........train all you want.......solo training, like shadow box, bag work, even pads.

if you do pads make sure they are not hittting you with them

basically do any type of training that it is not going to have the possiblity of getting nicked and re-opened.

i had t back out of a fight due to a cut i actually passed out when cutting weight i got out of the sauna to fast and stripped and got on scale and went to fast i woke up with blood on my fact cause y face hit the side of a locker the commission would have but if it would have been touched at all theyd have to stop the fight so i ended up not fighting and i pissed off the promoter for not taking it but i couldnt risk t i still had the scar for almost a year

MMA fight, right? 2 weeks are not enough, a clean punch with 4 oz gloves is gonna open that cut immediately. Either pull out or don't give a fuck about the possibility of that cut getting worse.
