Proof: America is greatest and most free country ever

Which part of that newsroom segment is self-loathing? Having an accurate assessment of your country's flaws is necessary to improvement. The notion that if you don't blindly believe your country is perfect then you must be self-loathing is dumb.

My problem with the clip is it sets up a delusional scenario to make the guy make a point the completely under other direction. No college campus has panels being asked "why are we so great" with their experts on stage just smiling.

So to start off the scene, we already have that exaggerated setting. This allows him to set up demonizing the current generation as "the worst period generation ever period" because of a problem this generation currently doesn't have. Then he lists a bunch of broad things we did in the past and ends with "America is not the greatest country in the world anymore". His entire damn point of there being no evidence of showing how we are the greatest country in the world right now ends with him saying we use to be.

My point is he is the grumpy old man with myopic self-aggrandizement about the "glory days" and is spewing statistics that a 20 year old college student wouldn't even have a chance to solve before entering their profession.

This scene is on level with the atheist professor/christian student chalk story that gets floated around. Just as mindless and propped up to make a really shitty point.

YOU ARE WELCOME, TO BAD YOU ARE A MUSLIM LOVING CUCK WHO IS TRYING TO DO EVERYTHING HE CAN TO REVERE WHAT WE DID FOR YOU.
AMERICA SETS YOU FREE, YOU BEND OVER AND TAKE IT IN THE POOPER FOR PEOPLE THAT WILL RUIN YOUFREEDOM.

Go on..

Apparently so are republicans, Trump is the front runner

The problem is that you can level this accusation to any of the candidates who remotely stood a chance, in both parties I might add. It's impossible to name a candidate that would be free from criticism. Normal, well-balanced people don't make the cut of the two party system.

I've been all over the world and never seen these magical places where "everybody hates America"....

Keep putting that ky jelous all over your cawk.

Your anecdotal evidence doesn't mean a thing, especially when my anecdotal evidence counters yours.

Heres a few links of most unpopular countries in the world from a quick google search, and just from the first page.

America is awesome and the ungratefulness of non-Americans towards such an amazing country is really stupid. In fact I argue that America should abandon those countries and so called "allies" when sh#t hits the fan. We shouldn't have brave American boys and girls dying self hating ungrateful people.

If an American bomb or artillery personally destroyed your home or something then I can understand your justifiable dislike for America. But if the person who is hating on America is some self hating white liberal cuck sipping mochas in Belgium and smoking cigarettes. well. then I say we abandon them and kick Belgium out of NATO.

Well, shit ok... Thank you, your nation and your great forefathers for their service, which have enabled me to live my life in safety and allowed me the freedoms I enjoy today! God bless America!

Amerikanischer schweinhund! Heil Hitler!

You're welcome.

Denmark. Don't try to deny your aiding the Nazis either.

You should be speaking German or Russian if it wasn't for America and yes even the Brits :)

^ I see the last 3 posters here and I want to give the speech tyler durden did
"Man, I see in fight club the strongest and smartest men who've ever lived."- tyler durden

man, I am hanging hardcore with the ambien walrus right now.

Lol
I think the U.S are more than happy from their ROI in both scenarios. The Marshall Plan was basically a take with one hand and give with the other scenario (all that Nazi loot went to some very specific pockets, neither of them was European), but of course it was done that way in order for the U.S to gain a solid foothold in Europe.
It's just politics. I would call it a win win. Showing gratitude for what though? That seems silly. If you think U.S military spending is/was done out of charity, so that those poor europeans could have their socialism, I don't know what to tell you.

You owe Uncle Sam.

I am not saying it as a criticism of Trump. If Trump is faking being conservative like Cable was saying, then republicans are apparently very easy to fool, as he is their most popular candidate.

Nah. Greatest perhaps, but not the most "free".

Probably somewhere in the top 10-20 for overall freedom in terms of political, economic, journalistic, human rights, etc... Not quite the best, but still lightyears ahead of the worst.

There is no doubt that some are fooled in some manner, but the bigger problem then becomes thinking that Republicans vote for Trump because they believe he is Conservative, or that You need to be Republican to vote for Trump.

It seems obvious that some Registered Republicans are voting for Trump, knowing he's a former Democrat and that he doesn't align with them on many issues, but for other reasons entirely.

I'd say there is a larger number of people than usual voting out of spite in this election, and not just for Trump.

Oh please....

Anyone who hates America learned their history by watching RT (i.e. Russian state propaganda) and Chomsky videos on Youtube. Intelligent people know that, out of the only countries with the capabilities to be global hegemons (USA and USSR), the USA ending up being The One was by far the best choice.

I have to laugh at this.. Such a load of bullshit. So the UK isn't free because they have higher taxes than the US? What about what the people get for those taxes? Free schooling, free healthcare?

I would actually say that the US is one of the countries where the population is truly NOT free, but you've been indoctrinated to believe you are.

You're goverened by capitalism and self-righteous laws.

Personally, I pay about 40% of income taxes. What does this give ME?

My kids get to go to school for free, all the way to a doctorate if they so wish.
Me and the wife get 12 months PAID leave to split when we have a kid.
Free healthcare.

Look at this clip by Michael Moore for example:

These things are the same in many European countries.

Need I say more?

You're boasting about freedom, yet you have more people incarcerated per capita than any other nation on earth.
I don't dislike the USA, and I've had a couple of decent holidays there, but I sure as fuck wouldn't live there. There's just too many issues with the place. If you get ill without insurance, you're fucked, the wages are shit unless you've got a degree, which costs a fortune to get, and then you've got the crime and drugs to deal with.
Sorry fellas, but I'd take my lesser freedom in Canada/Australia/NZ or even somewhere shit like the UK before I'd consider America
