'Rank Squatting' at LW

People spent fuckin ages going on about how the likes of Dustin, Justin and Olives were 'rank squatting' while likes of Fiziev, Benny and BSD were being held back from being allowed to challenge.

Like maybe those guys have all managed to stay top 5 for a long time because they are stone cold killers and the fact you get a bit bored seeing the same ppl fight doesen't mean they are 'rank squatting'?

Here's the thing. Both BSD and Fiziev were doing good against both guys and lost the 2nd half of fight. It wasn't a blowout. Meanwhile top 5 guys have checkered records to each other. Both had good fights with top 5 guys and weren't the ones who most wanted to see against top 5 (gamrot and arman).

And Dustin, Justin, and Olives look much better having fought the up and coming comp rather than continuing the LW circle jerk. I love the LW's but lets not defend people not defending their rank.

They were just ranked high and fought who they should have fought. No one ducked. Certainly can't blame Poirier for fighting Conor twice when they wanted him to do that.

No one accused Charles of rank squatting because he wasn't. For a bit he was champ and just fought guys in the top 5.

Dustin, Justin, and Chandler were accused of it all because they had gotten TSs, lost, and then just fought each other round and round.

Now that they have fought guys outside of the top 5 (aside from Chandler), they aren't rank squatters, simple.

I'm still happy to see Gaethje and Poirier winning. Those two are ELITE fighters and arguably the greatest strikers in the history of the sport. Absolute savages on the feet.
They thought Fiziev was better? Nopes.
BSD? Nopes.
Chandler? Nopes.
Gaethje, Poirier, and Charles will be top 5 for a very long time.
Unfortunately, they'll never be champs with Islam at the helm.

The fact that the old guard LWs are now beating the up and comers doesn’t mean they weren’t rank squatting in the past. The two aren’t mutually exclusive. Justin was extremely inactive for a long time and maintained his spot despite losing while other guys were active and winning without moving up the rankings or getting a shot at the top guys. Finally after a while Dustin, Justin etc started fighting these young guys and props to them for winning. But let’s not re-write history and pretend they weren’t squatting, they absolutely were.
