Recent fights/results/news from Thailand

"Comes back" just after the whole gym (Pornsaneh) decides to leave. I wonder if they're forcing him or being passive aggressive in telling him to return. Gotta have some credible or notable fighters to keep the white dudes coming.

He was out of shape at 143, so fighting at 154 means he's probably not in any kind of fighting shape.

If you remember in both Glory fights at 65kg he had problems making weight coming in too heavy and that was a year ago. Since then hes been off from fighting concentrating on his studies so he probably naturally moved up to 70kg since then. But yeah I am interested on seeing how his stamina is. Hopefully its not bad.

My feeling is he struggled to make 143 because he was out of shape. He does come across as a "lazy" (whatever that means) fighter a lot of times, and I got that feel when watching him in Glory.

He'd benefit from a better gym. Successful as a 118-122 pounder, but a classic example of a flawed fighter who struggles once they can't get by on just power and aggression.

Nice what weight was the tournament at? I hope Petpanomrung keeps fighting foreigners as well as Thai's.

Maybe he came back because his broken nose healed

glad to see Petpanomrung back on track. great style. anyone got full results? curious how Aranchai did.

Yodkhunpon Sitmonchai defeats Armin in a 3rd round elbow knockout! If anyone gets any footage share please.

Aranchai beat Mathias Gallo Cassarino in the first round and Petpanomrung beat Kwankao in the final. Only results I know.

And this was at 140, not 135.

Fan cam is all you'll get if you're lucky.

Not a serious show with good fighters and it was in Southern Thailand at some rinky-dink festival with the fight prior to the main event being a dwarf fight.

Aranchai beat Mathias, lost to Petpanomrung in semi final, Kwankhao beat Khaimukkhao in other semi

decent, but he should have been much bigger then Yodkhunpon.

Is armin not a good fighter?

Depends on what your definition of good is.

Does he suck? No. Is he one of the 10 best 154 pound Thais? No.

Apparently he fought a lot in Phuket and for some reason started getting international fights. The first I heard of him was when watching a stream of a show in France a few years ago. He fought in the last Isuzu tournament where he went 1-2 or 1-3.

Yodsaenklai vs. Marat Grigorian

It's from a Kunlun show in china (not Thailand I know...), but I didn't want to make a new thread for it.

Poor Perfect Muscle Guy Knocked Out By Kick To Face [YT]/watch?v=lL5q9OnI5V0[/YT]

I just read a very interesting article on Serafim Todorov. The man somrak beat for the gold medal in 96 at the olympics. He is also the last guy to beat mayweather ( in semi finals) which brought about this whole article. In it he basically claims that the his handlers fixed the mayweather match in his favor and the gold medal match in somrak favor.

There is also a Vice documentary about the matter I believe...

buakaw is the promoter of a new promotion on workpoint1 called "Super Muay Thai"
here is petchtanong fighting a foreigner in the main event

Mayweather definitely was robbed. He was only getting points for perfect shots while Todorov was getting points for lesser punches that barely grazed Mayweather's head. Mayweather should have won by at least 5 points.

Whether it was fixed or not Somrak deserved the win over Todorov. No controversy about that match.

Apparently Petchmorakot has a fight in Tokyo tomorrow, anyone with more info?

"Super Muay Thai" has some great fights and fighters. Really enjoyed กล้าศึก ศิษย์จ่ากล้า VS KOUNG P. So sad that KOUNG P. lost this fight. Hope to see much more of KOUNG P. in the Future.

Nice, how does that work anyways, lumpinee/rajatitles in Japan? Do they consider it a "worldtitle" or something cause obviously they're not even stadiumranked... Same guy who beat Mapichit?

Umeno is ranked 10 and another Japanese fighter is ranked 10 who is also fighting for the 122 title against Nattapon.

Nattapon almost fights exclusively in Japan now. He's defended over there a few times. They can probably get more money by doing title fights there. Every so often a Japanese guy gets ranked #10, that means they're probably getting a title shot. Umeno has actually faired well against quality opposition, so his shot isn't totally bogus like some others. Yes, he's beat Jompichit, Pornsaneh and had a draw with Singthongnoi.

How do the rankings at Lumpini/Rajadamnern work? Who does them?

I did a quick google search and couldn't find much.

Thanks, in advance!
