Going by memory, I sold these gloves before I really got to use them.
Pros:
Quality gloves, the workmanship is obvious
Great leather, not plasticky though. More matte feel and look
Thicker padding than most bag gloves of these size (1.25")
coolmax lining is great
solid, form fitting feel
Definitely able to form a tight fist
Cons:
You kids may not like the colour scheme. No epiliptic inducing colours here
Get large (see below)
Overall:
I normally do not like these type of gloves as I find heavier ones easier on my wrists when I slam the heavy bag or thai pads. Of course everyone else in my gym uses these types :icon_conf
Regardless, these gloves were great! Nice thick padding on the knuckles, okay wrist support. I'd recommend these if you're into these types of gloves.
One thing though, I found regular to be small on the finger length size. It felt like my fingers were squished lengthwise and were REALLY uncomfortable (and I'm pretty sure my fingers are on the stubby side). Maybe I'm not used to these types of gloves, but it just felt too small.
I'm giving this an 8 or even 9 overall and I probably would have kept them had I got the size right.
