Rewatch Roy Nelson overhand is legendary

Just a nice reminder of simpler, fun times

It's one of those strikes that his opponents know will happen, but that overhand always lands.

Alex's left hook, Roy Nelson's overhand right and Cro Cop's LHK:

Big Country's KO of Big Nog is one of the most aesthetically pleasing in MMA history. He even made Nogueira play his own funeral march on air guitar.

Big Country also made Crocop completely crumple. When the referee stepped in to save Crocop's life, Nelson stepped over Crocop like Iverson did to Tyronn Lue.

That was around the same time that Hendo obliterated Fedor. His right hand sent Fedor's face dragging across the mat. It's scary to think with how much devastating force Big Country would have KO'd Fedor had they fought.

So many just fun fighters during that era. Him vs Hunt and Lewis were awesome match ups.

Mirko getting flatlines by Roy just hurts.

But if you are a pro fighter and you can't avoid one weapon in standup that Roy has you deserve it. Same with Hendo's overhand.

He was cutting off the cage pretty good and he had a great spatial awareness. He got almost all of his KOs when he had his opponent exactly where he wanted them to be. His most successful tactic was to pressure them closer to the cage and then catch them with his right hand when they started to (or even planned to) circle towards his power hand. He baited them into a vulnerable position and caught them with power and precision.

The one on Nog is the most telegraphed right hand of all time. There was not even a hint of Roy trying to mask it whatsoever, the whole arena watched him step forward for 4 full seconds knowing he was setting up that right hand, and Nog just lets it land. Pride never dies huh.
