International Russia/Ukraine Megathread V15

Putler as usual going all in. Heading to Kharkiv will spill a lot of blood as it's a big city and will be hard to take as well as well defended. Obviously not a feint as some has suspected will be interesting to see the loses Putler is willing to take to try this offensive and questions being asked about UKR lack of defensive lines to slow the Russians down.

I thought for SURE that this was a feint!

WOW!

Yes, very tough to build anything substantial while eyes are upon you . However questions have been brought up about how poorly it was done and in many areas not even simple mine fields.

Yeah, the Ukrainian commander got relieved of duty already.

In USSR era Harkov was one from centers for USSR military industrial complex. Tanks factory and repair bases etc stuff. It isn't Mariupol, Severodonetsk, Berdaynsk or bakhmut ( these were civilian type cities)....so definitely Harkov should have more shelters built to protect USSR military industrial complex workers and their supervisors form ....bombs possibly dropped by evil NATO.

So from one point it is good, while bad thing is that Ukraine looks that didn't had bothered to invest in fortifications since 2014 th...
Also irresposibibility with ammo supplies for this province is easy to see.
Additionally a lot of western countries had prohibited to use their supplied weapons in order to shell 🇷🇺, however borderline is so close to actual frontline that.....for russia is possible to shell Ukr positions in Harkov oblastj with long range arty and MRLS located in ....Russia.
Ukr idiots had located some arty they had get from Germany 🇩🇪 and now are eating their idiotism outcom: Germany when supplied howitzers batch had inserted clause that these can't be used on targets in Russia. Maybe someone will tell that Ukr should tell piss off...while they does needs spare parts for arty and these are supplied by .. vuala ...Germany.

U.K had remowed such clause...PM and U.K MoD and MoeF confirmed that United Kingdoom had remowed such clause.

Looks that geopolitical target is to get Donetsk and Luhansk oblastjs and if possible also Harkov ( Kharkiv ) oblastjs and then move forward.
Harkov is also mentally important for these with nostalgia about situation in 1986 th...
Symbol of USSR empire pride, greatness and military industrial complex landmark....in brains.

they likely wont say anything until Russian planes start falling out of the sky. Keep in mind, we know they have Aim-120C-8s

That is insanely deadly, they also might get meteor as well.
I hope the delays are due to radar upgrades. Most of the countries sending f-16 purchased them in the 90's.

Long article but this was very cool.

Story of Lyuttyy/Liutyi the Ukrainian 1000km range drone responsible for 80% of Russian oil strikes that nobody wanted to pay for...

Private project from people who hadn't made flying drone bombs trying to get funding for a flying bomb when better and more expensive Byraktar drones have already been shot down.

Turns out the project was quite hard to get off the ground. Metaphorically and literally.

Denmark initially said six fighter jets would be delivered to Ukraine in the new year. However, reports emerged in January that the Defense Ministry in Copenhagen had pushed the delivery back by six months. It is not clear why this decision was made.

Denmark has committed to sending 19 of the fighter jets to Ukraine, but Frederiksen revealed on Monday that the batch being delivered will only include five Danish aircraft. Meanwhile, the Netherlands has said it will send a total of 42 F-16s to Ukraine, with an initial batch of 24.

RUSI has released their latest analysis:

If you got 10 minutes, give it a good read.

If not, here is the TLDR version:

1. Murican latest aid arrives late = Ukraine is fucked
2. Murican latest aid arrives on time = Ukraine has a tough time but manageable
3. Ukraine needs to greatly expand its army to have any hope of taking back lost territories.

6 aircraft will make little difference in the war.
As had been planned.
Yes, Ukraine is large and 6 aircraft will make 0 sense.
However if we know that West in reality wants Russia to win this war then everything is according to gameplan ....like Putin had told and..he was correct.
War laboratorium Ukraine ....
.
How much F-16 U.S will send? 0
Will make 6 or 16 F-16 difference? No.
And U.S had let bireucratic and slow in decisions making europe to supply Ukr with their old F-16 ....specially IMHO....slower supplies = better for war laboratorium if course.
.
Tanks.
Will 31 Abrams make difference for 1000 miles frontline? Of course NO.
Therefore these had been supplied and with delays as had been planned.
Will 310 Abrams make difference? Yes.
And therefore exactly were supplied 31 not 310.
Btw U.S does have a lot of old Abrams and no one will purchase these. With exception in Poland.

Nothing wrong, old F-16 and Abrams more usable are to accumulate dust.. ..

i think a few are getting mild upgrades...some will have AN/APG-83

From some maybe 50 F-16 might be some effect, ofc depends from avionics modification they will get. Also ofc good if they will have AWACS etc.. .

6 F-16 IF ( this matters a lot ) upgraded and with really good " blocks " might make sense for small country, for example for Belgium ....Ukraine is large and therefore 6 fighters will have miniscule effect.....almost 0 effect.
