I knew I should have quit picking after the first event of this season and retired with that 10-1 record.

I keep saying that [Nate] Diaz' wild ways are going to catch up with him, but so far, none of his opponents have been the one to prove me right. Maybe next time.

Maybe I'll go to my grave saying that without it ever happening. Who knows?

Quote dated 04/03/2008. Apparently I not only have a chronic inability to believe in Nate Diaz' ability, but also a total failure to learn. I think that the lesson I need to sink in here is that unless he's fighting a title-contender, Nate Diaz is going to win.

As for the rest of my 50/50 coin-flip results: meh about the undercard upsets. God-damn-wow over Edgar's matador act over Penn, but he's going to need something seriously surprising to keep Maynard from just planting him and sitting on him for 25 minutes. Oh, and I'd be a lot happier with Gray Maynard's pre-fight, "I'm going to knock him out" talk IF HE'D EVER KNOCKED ANYONE OUT IN THE UFC OTHER THAN "WHO THE HELL IS" JOE VERES AND HIMSELF.

I am very much not looking forward to Edgar/Maynard II for the UFC LW title.
