so here's a question i've been meaning to ask here, and here i am asking it:

when you say 'war (fighter name)', where did that originally come from? is 'war' an acronym for something? where was it first used?

i've been living in ignorance for too long, please relieve me of it.

When you root for war machine and say war war machine, it makes you sound like a stuttering idiot

it came from pride, engrish stuff.
 
I don't know but I can remember someone posting 'WAR TITO ORTIZ' here in the mid 2000s and everyone was like 'wtf do you mean war that sounds dumb'
(it was more common on the UG than Sherdog at that time)

Then a few years later it became a normal way for everyone to express support. Many such cases!

I loved using warlovski cause two thirds of the word was already in his name.
