no because according to most people on this website, gomi has no sub defence. Which is bullshit, but people will use that to discredit serra.

I agree that Serra pretty much owned him. Gomi was in full on defense mode the entire time. Just trying to survive.

Gomi is a striker, period. Kudos to him for working on his weak points though. Theres nothing wrong with that.

Agreed it's a poor example ... Gomi's main weakness in MMA is his sub defence...SO, in a grappling match?...I suggest even though he lost, Gomi was the fighter that learnt more from this

Don't want to start a new thread, so I'll just ask here, how do you guys think Serra vs Hughes will go if Hughes takes Serra down? Do you think Hughes can nullify Serra's BJJ, I'm thinking Serra might be too much for Hughes on the ground but I'm not sure.

If Hughes can stuff BJ, he can definitely stuff Serra... Hughes is the clear favorite, but then again so was GSP over Serra.
