Eventually, after lots of money has been wasted, the big players will get back to the usual MO and the fringe stuff will go back to the independents.
This movie likely won't be the tipping point, not big enough of a budget.

I love how these female empowered, shove it in your face movies are doing horrible.

The thinking of these weird people with their weird mission:

Let's take these movies that people liked... but movies that were way too male driven apparently, and show that they can be just as good if we put women at the wheel... Oceans 8, Ghostbusters, Overboard.... all failures. Because no one asked for that shit, and no one likes being told what they should and shouldnt like.

So now, they took a movie/show, that had female leads, but was kinda geared towards men by making it silly with lots of fighting, and 3 super hot chicks, a movie that was never great to begin with. And Elizabeth Banks goes and takes those things away, the chicks aren't that hot, looks stupid, and while we're at it, Bosley doesnt need to be a guy either... and it fuckin sucks.

So here we have a woman made movie, made for women, casted and led by women. And what happens when the movie fuckin bombs?? She blames men.... haha, nice.

I wish this was true, but since it cost $45 million to make it would need around $110 million to break even.

Wish it would bomb like Terminator, but at this point Star Wars Ep9 making less than $600 million would be a more impactful bomb on Woke Hollywood.

I'll say it nets around $10 million or less, opening weekend, and I'm being very generous.

The only reason anyone ever watched this shit heap in TV or Movie form, is sex appeal. Take that away, and you got nothin'. This new cast does not exactly scream "sex appeal", and it looks about as bland as dry oatmeal. Another "woke" flick that looks to turn stereotypes on their head, and will suffer greatly for it.

If you want to make a tough chick movie, go for it. Just don't use a property mainly known for objectifying beautiful women at every turn, and think people will actually be interested, when you take that aspect away.

Not that I'm particularly interested in the franchise either way, but who doesn't like watching a good car crash?

Yeah I don't really think Charlie's Angels was ever a "tough chick" thing or any sort of girl power feature.

It was always sales meets soft porn, like the firearm sales videos Sam Jackson is watching in Jackie Brown that consist of models in bikinis with excessive amounts of hairspray firing weapons in the desert while posing.

So yeah if you're going to remake it the director should stick to the roots of the intellectual property.





It hurts my brain a bit to refer to that franchise as "intellectual" property.

The only "mission" with films like this is to try and make as much money as possible IMHO.

What these films represent for me is an outgrowth of the establishments obsession with tokenism that grew with Obama's success. I mean I'm not against equal representation but the focus on a small number of individuals as somehow representing all of society has I think clearly become THE prime focus of a lot of the liberal establishment rather than substance.

Film execs are always after a way they think they can sell a product with the least amount of talent/effort and were drawn to this mindset like moths to a flame. They didn't give a fuck about the actual politics and really what you look at the films were not political at all beyond representation. A film like Aliens is a feminist piece of cinema concerned with showing the strength of motherhood over the bravado and corruption of a more masculine system, a film like this isn't feminist at all, indeed going from the trailer it actually looks rather clichéd and sexist.

Of course it bombed. At least half the population doesn’t care for this type of film at all, let alone a remake of this type of film(tv show, you get the point though).

most of the women cheering the movie won’t even watch it. They are just cheering their team from the stands. And guys aren’t going to watch this either. What group of guys is saying they want to go and spend money on this? None. Not even the gay ones.

Well that is true. Guys would rather watch female super heroes who are not natural, kicking ass. Makes sense. Just like bad chicks with guns is something guys would watch too. Again, it makes sense. Anyone can blast someone.

Now, a tiny little 90lb lady busting up dozens of bulky dudes with straight fisticuffs, is nonsensical. She just needs to realize we like different types of things. It’s not so horrible, lady. It’s reality.

Men like women lead action movies as long as they’re somewhat believable as action stars. I agree it’s a little ridiculous to see a tiny little woman beat up a bunch of big dudes. Most of the action movies starring men have big guys like Schwarzenegger or Stallone kicking everyone’s ass so it’s believable. The martial arts genre is the exception but there are plenty of little women who kick ass in the martial arts genre and for the most part we love it.

Now give us a Brigitte Nielsen or Grace Jones as a lead and we can buy into it.

That is a very 80’s post.
