Right on the top of my head i would say Aldo for the strikers and Romero for the wrestlers. Obviously if you belong to one of this two categories you have great chances of success.

At the opposite we know fighters who could have been monstruous if they had takedown defense or boxing defense. I'm thinking Condit for the first category (even though he had great bottom game) and Rockhold for the second one (I have always pictured Rockhold as a grappler with great kicks)

Crocop had good TDD for a striker, if we ignore the first few bouts. Barnett, as a wrestler, handled strikers well.

khabib had great boxing defense for a grappler. light on the feet, fast and rarely got hit. even when hit flush, he would dodge following punches

I'd say we saw both sides of this coin in Makhachev versus Volkanovski. Islam as the wrestler with striking defense, Alex as the striker with takedown defense.
