Izzy has been fighting like that for a while

The Vetorri, Cannoneer, and second Whittaker fight he dances around doing very little spamming kicks. Sean marched forward and had great defense against the kicks and he is a better technical boxer than those guys with better cardio.

Yeah Izzy looked shot.. I was waiting for him to go after Sean in the 5th and he never did. It's like he was ok with losing the belt. Very weird given we just saw him fight and KO a guy that had beaten him 3 times

It was a typical Strickland fight. Alex gave him the cheat codes as well. Izzys leg kicks and setups didn't work. And Sean kept pushing the pace on him

It looked "weird" because styles make fights.

Izzy thrives off countering, he does his best work when someone is overly aggressive and over commits / extends. Sean's defense was giving him trouble because Sean was very reserved with his shot selection and overall activity. So izzy was forced to try to break Sean's defense but he failed in the process and ended getting tagged a bunch of times.

He wasn't shot.

All through the fight, whenever he'd tried to just plant and fire, Sean was defending and countering him easily. 5 rounds of that and he was afraid to try it even though he needed a finish. He did it anyway a few times in round 5 and got countered each time and put back on the back foot.

The Alex fight was totally different. Alex was in his face throwing bombs with not a care for defense, so Izzy countered him. Sean was in his face but always defending. There was no opening for Izzy even when Sean was attacking.
