Kinda brutal stuff here. The way the shots flowed when he was young vs how he's looked the last 2-3 years. Combination of inactivity, wear and tear, and age.

I would think whoever faces him in his final fight is probably going to crush him.

vs

Forget how he looked vs Mas and Leon. Even in the pettis fight here that he wins. he is just horrendous on his feet until Pettis fell apart

his hands aren’t as fast but he’s still on point with his accuracy

Your assessment disregards the abilities of his opponents in these contests, and Nate's abilities to adjust to them.

Nate has the physical tools to beat Michael Johnson in a pure boxing match. So that's what he did. Stood toe to toe and boxed him up.

Pettis KOd Wonderboy stiff with one shot and hit Ferguson with some huge shots, that eventually broke his hand. Nate used more unorthodox entries, forced clinches and takedowns, and fought at a closer range to take away Pettis's kicks and power punches. Wilted him with the size and pressure.

And nobody here believes Nate could beat Mas or Leon in a straight boxing or kickboxing match. He tried to use guile and his chin to outlast and eventually catch them. He never got the chance against a winded Mas. And we all saw how close he got to pulling it off with Leon.

In conclusion, your assessment receives a D+, non-passing grade.

Diaz bro’s proving harder to get rid of than BJ Penn. Book them or cut em loose, their bullshits getting old.

The strategy of take 1 hit to land 2 shots can only last so long.

Nate does not have the power to put people away unless they are winded and is pretty much losing every fight until he wins.

I think he has the same problem Conor has, they just don't put the work in anymore.

His technique was always awful, which is incredible to achieve, considering his cardio. Ten thousands of repetitions over decades and still throwing like a 1 year amateur.

He has a good eye, timing, unlimited cardio and mostly a really good chin.
Good size and reach + awkward style.

He's from the Andre Ward gym. A gym known for ugly boxing, although with good technique and a focus on taking away your opponents best weapons.
Nate ain't smart enough to do the later though.

Afaik MJ took the first round, but threw the same combinations over and over again.
Extremely predictable.
No wrestling, not enough leg kicks, he lost via being stupid, smaller and having less cardio.

I think Nate's best Asset is his Mega Brain and Will To Bitch slap. Made Dana his Bitch. Self Made Millionaire. Legend either way.

Looking at fights from MJ to Masvidal, it's clear that Nate has lost his hand speed and reflexes. Not sure if it was the inactivity, the move to WW, or the wear and tear.
