The Myth of Sergei Pavlovich's Power

{<huh}
Compare the HIGHEST LEVEL of elite heavyweight boxing against a 6'9 switch hitter who outboxed Klitschko...
To Ngannou fight old Chicago Golden Glove Stipe in an MMA match? (where stipe was trying to wrestle)

You know how many homers Mike Trout would hit off a regional U22 all star baseball team? That's about the same as what you are comparing.

Wilder has been boxing at the championship level since 2015.
Ngannou has bever boxed professionally.
Young Fury outboxed old Klitschko years ago and Wilder lost three times to old, pretty slow Fury. Wilder has more height, reach than Ngannou, and maybe more power (I'm not convinced of that since he never ko'd people with incredibly short punches like Ngannou). Ngannou is far more skilled at punching and movement.

Are you daft?

Francis has never thrown an "incredibly short punch" in his life. His punching style is a barrage of haymakers.

His best punch is his launching left-uppercut, that begins at the floor, and winds up at the ceiling.

His best punch ko punch is a shovel hook. He dropped Stipe with a short straight, and ko'd him with a short jab. The uppercut/shovel hook that ko'd Cain was incredibly short. Also, Ngannou's shovel hook counters are more skillful than anything Wilder has ever shown.

Wilders jab and right cross are better cleaner punches than any punch ngannou has ever thrown.

You are out of your mind.

This. Exactly.

Here are more of Ngannou's "short punches" and "superior footwork" in slow-mo <45>

Dude has serious power, especially with tiny gloves, but Ngannou's "technique" is laughable compared to Wilder.

With larger boxing gloves on, in a boxing ring, Ngannou will be decimated if he ever faces the Deontay Wilder.

You look to me like boxing fans looking for opportunity to shit on MMA. Ngannou's jab and uppercuts may have more ko power than Wilder's, albeit Wilder may have stronger hooks. Wilder's jab isn't any better than Ngannou's. He just has longer arms. Ngannou throws haymakers much more rarely than Wilder if anything, and Rozenstruik got destroyed by that combination. Wilder probably doesn't even have technical capability and footwork to throw a combo like that.

Idiot.

Wilder has a 98% KO ratio in boxing (43 wins, 42 KOs), using bigger gloves.

Ngannou only has a 71% KO ratio in MMA (17 wins, 12 KOs), using smaller gloves.

Please sit down, and STFU.

Thanks!

Great accuracy and hand speed. He's winning with his striking regardless of reason.

i think Sergei is good for what he is, but the people saying he hits as hard or harder than Ngannou are smoking crack.

Bruh. The guy is built like a brick sh*thouse and has 6 first round KOs. Pretty sure he has power

Ya, this is why I shouldn't have engaged.

The argument that "he lacks power, the proof is that Ngannou has more power" is...not a good argument.

TS is right in that he is fast and has accuracy and overwhelms opponents. He hurts them, then goes in for the kill. But he doesn't one punch KO them.

I guess I missed the scads of arguments where fans confused him with a one punch KO artist, but when TS is arguing against these mythical fans, he's probably going to win.

Happy Monday to you, sir.

there were definitely people saying he hits as hard or harder than Ngannou

That doesn't prove anything as he has shorter arms (so it's harder for him to land) and there are ways to avoid punching exchanges in MMA. Majority of Wilder's opponents weren't very good either.

Lmfao.

Denial ≠ rebuttal.

Rail-on, iditot.

He's a regular technical brawler. Not the fastest, not the scariest power. Just good and young. Basically HW in mma is empty and he is a big strong guy with good skills. Nothing out of the ordinary but enough in today's climate.
