The rematch paradox

Lots of you "sherdoggers" are getting mad at Izzy likely getting the rematch

That's more do to with your lack of logic or ability to look at things objectively than it is with any weird misjustice or favoritism toward Izzy. Common to this forum though.

The reason Strickland got the fight in the first place is cause Izzy keeps an insane schedule, likes to fight every 3-4 months. Izzy was arguably always going to be on this Sydney card, as it was a PPV (not a fight night) and Volk was out. So always Izzy in the main event.

DDP was out, so Izzy not wanting to just chill and wait, did as he always does and calls out next in line, Strickland.
Izzy got Strickland to the dance in the first place.

All of the above, make Dana very happy. And remember this is not the first time Izzy has done this.
Dana also respects Izzy's schedule. That gets lots of Dana points.

Lastly, Dana loves how the last rematch he granted to Izzy turned out - the hype, the moment, the numbers, how Izzy delivered.

So Izzy will in in likelihood get this rematch. Based off what hes done of the company and the sport, and based of what he did for Sean Strickland.

So its hilarious, like in a mocking kind of way, to see all these sherdoggers mad and this fact, when they can't piece together a logical flow in their brains that...

"what a minute, all the things that are likely to get Izzy the immediate rematch.. are all the things that got Sean the title shot in the first place"
So basically, you think we should want him to get the rematch because that’s what would make Dana happy?

Fuck off!!

<DisgustingHHH>

Like I mentioned in other threads if Stipe is receiving an insta title for the second time and he is insanely inactive and not one of Dana's favourites what makes people think Izzy won't receive one as well? The weak argument of him being the greatest hw of all time is the reason he deserves a second one can be countered with Izzy being the most active champ for a good while or ever makes him deserving of a second one(correct me if I'm wrong in that point) I don't feel either should get an instant title shot for a second time but people are acting like this hasn't happened before. Jones wanting the match is a moot point the fact is Stipe is receiving a second instant title shot.

Because that's who Jon Jones wants to fight and it will sell.

Your comparison is invalid.

DeSean doesn't want to fight Izzy again.

Izzy got the rematch with Alex based on what he did for a few years at MW.

He is now 1-2 in his last 3, and 3-4 in his last 7.

He'll get an immediate rematch based on popularity and the boss being upset his cash cow and posterboy got beat not because of any thing "logical".

And LOL at ts going on about logic and looking at things "objectively"

1-2 in his last 3, was totally shut out in this fight, was on his way to losing the 2nd Alex fight, was stopped in the first fight with Alex (MMA).

Logic and being objective is seeing a guy who at his chosen weigh class is 1-2 in his last 3 fights perhaps not being given preferential treatment. He'll get a rematch based on that; not logic or objectiveness.

But objectively he doesn't deserve it, so you're entire little speech has fallen apart at this point, not gonna bother to read the rest.

Do you have a source that DeSean(master of the durag) doesn't want to fight Izzy again? I heard him say he'll fight whoever Dana pairs him with hence Jones wanting the Stipe match is moot. My point is that it has happened before cashing in an instant title shot for a second time.

Strickland is a contender. Sean only got the shot because Izzy beat everyone else. Sean had zero top 5 wins before today. He likely never becomes champ if he had to climb the ladder and get 2 more top 5 wins.

He got to skip the line (rank #5) because Izzy already whooped everyone's ass.
And he whipped Izzy’s ass from pillar to post.

"No one is confused as to why"

Lol what cope. Read the threads.

And here's my definition of what a real sherdogger is. " a clueless mma fan who's posts are not objective or grounded in reality, who's posts get more garbage and nonsensical the higher "belt" they are, largely due to the echo chamber of stupidity nature of sherdpg forums"

I can provide examples forever of this

You can't type for shit.

There's no paradox. There's also no deserve. There's a market.

If more people will pay to watch Izzy in the rematch than to see a new contender, then Izzy probably gets the rematch. If Strickland wants someone else he better get the casuals on board. If DDP wants that fight he better get some very noisy fans on his side.

Because Izzy is a big name and he's EAs cover model for a game they're just starting to push, so he's just about a lock for this rematch. "Deserve" be damned.

The Champion has a name and it's Sean.

By your logic Sean will be selecting the next challenger just like you said Izzy did. (which is bullshit anyhow.. Fighters do not make cards)

Sean is a busy fighter just like Izzy... So the line to get to the Champ... Who is Strickland not Izzy... will move quickly and Izzy will get his turn in due order.

Dana (who actually has influence in matchmaking) is already backing off on the rematch talk...

People who operate under the assumption that Champions choose their opponents really should be ignored from the very first time they say it.
