I have always been critic of fighter pay, but it seems last nights payout was noticeable more than in the past. Miranda Maverick made 150k and she was the first fight of the card. Andrea Lee did 70k. MACKENZIE DERN GOT PAID 200k. Every woman except Lee made over 6 figures. Whittaker made 400k and Paulo 250k for a mediocre fight. Volk got 750k but probably got PPV too and definitely made over a million to get KTFO'd. Ilia did 350k. Marcos De Lima did 200k and he is a middle level fighter.

Pretty decent money. Maybe the UFC realized that if they bumped the pay a little they would get less criticism.

They have less honor than ONE though.

I hope this is the beginning of an upward trend. I wonder if this is just temporary for people to try to shut up the critics.

750k to get CTE. Totally worth the trade off to eat pudding in your 50's.

Volk not getting atleast $1 milly is sad.

Topuria, Costa and Whitakker all very underpaid compared to the entertainment and skills they bring..

Im not one of those people that constantly cry and complain about fighter pay because nobody forcing these fighters to fight for a living but just looking at what they make compared to boxers and how much money the UFC brings its sad

Remember when Paulo and his manager were talking about some huge contract they made with the UFC, millionaire shit and all.

So 250k seems a bit off.

someone had posted the payouts of 298 with a ton of 10,000 show/10,000 win purses. I guess it was made up list then...

They could at least top up these guys:

Rinya Nakamura - $23,000 plus $23,000 bonus with a win
Carlos Vera - $12,000 plus $12,000 bonus with a win
Zhang Mingyang - $10,000 plus $10,000 bonus with a win
Brendson Ribeiro - $10,000 plus $10,000 bonus with a win
Josh Quinlan - $12,000 plus $12,000 bonus with a win
Danny Barlow - $10,000 plus $10,000 bonus with a win

Im pretty sure getting knocked out in a 2 round fight where not much of significance landed before the KO isnt even half as bad as the repeated blows one takes in sparring or a hard fought decision.

Your brain shutting off like that is actually a preservation response. Its people like Max I worry about.

PPV for Alex and maybe Ilia
Damn, Whitakers win bonus is shitty. Thought he was on a 300/300 contract. Another site said so

50k Bonuses
Zhang Mingyang, Ilia Topuria, Anthony Hernandez

Also Dana said Whitaker and Costa would get a bonus. Let's see

and sponsorhip

What good pay is subjective.

Compared to you average American most the fighters with names are top 1% earners. Plus you gotta take into account that they fight 2-3 times a year.

Compared to athletes in others sports they make pennies. Like a decent NBA, NFL, or MLB player would laugh at these paychecks

It’s really a cup half full/ half empty kinda thing

Yeah, there is nothing better for preservation that lying defenseless in front of an enemy.
