Using your voice professionally is a thing. Bet he warms up every single time, and has adopted habits and lifestyle choices that protect his vocal folds.

No shit I got a polyp from not knowing how to sing, and a speech pathologist schooled me in “vocal rehab” after surgery. Using speaker phone, for example, is a no-no because we automatically talk louder for some reason. Not trying to talk over loud noises or background music is another. You strain your voice in these situations. Also, adopting the discipline to speak at all times using the same discipline with which you sing (or announce, in Bruce’s case)- a diaphragm full of air, and using your abdomen to project or emphasize without straining your throat. You can tell when Bruce speaks during podcasts or interviews that he’s very measured and controlled. Anik is the same way. This is on purpose, not because they’re “robotic”.

Also, caffeine dehydrates your vocal folds, and sipping water or hot tea does not rehydrate them. Alcohol and cigarettes, biggest of no-no’s.
