Social US Border Patrol Officer tells Haitian migrant his country is s***

Because most people are not global elites, who are fundamentally rootless parasites who can afford to jet off to wherever they feel like at any given time. Most people want borders, stability and order in their lives. They don't want mass numbers of Haitians importing Haitian conditions and standards of living into their community.
But they wouldnt even be Hatians if there were no nations or borders…

What is the point of this statement?
"If the French were still colonizing a nation of people today, you don't think they would be better off?" Really?

The colonization of Haiti is unfuckingdeniably a large part of how it is the way it is today...as well as the god awful subsequent history and foreign interference.
The United States should be 2nd to the last country complaining about Haitians "ruining their country via illegal immigration"

Colonization depleted their natural resources and eroded their land.
Haiti had to PAY France reparations for its own colonization.
The United States then invaded them and occupied them for 20 years. They robbed their national bank. They then helped to orchestrate coups in the 90s, 2004, and are believed to have had a hand in the recent assassination of the last president. That's just the broad strokes.

And you want to tell me that their shithole status has nothing to do with colonization? This is just typical black and brown 3rd world incompetence?
Read a book, for fucks sake, mate.
It's mostly incompetence, their island neighborhood was colonized just the same and also invaded and subjugated by Haiti itself, however they're doing a whole lot better because they aren't as incompetent.
For one the Dominican Republic never tried to occupy Haiti and get destroyed in the process while Haiti tried to do that to the Dominican Republic and got rewarded with the destruction of their army.

Haiti has consistently been a violent, crime-ridden cesspit ever since the French left and they genocided the last remaining whites there over two hundred years ago

This is a often used, lazy and useless way of talking about other countries and communities. It's used to shirk responsibility and blame.
Saying something is good or bad, tells us nothing. You don't need to have any knowledge or understanding of anything to look at a neighborhood and say "This neighborhood is nice", and "This neighborhood is trash".
You are talking about a country as if you are talking about water or fire....as if these things are what they are because of nature.
The only thing that matters is why these things are the way they are. If you can't answer that, then you can't fix them. Saying a country is poor, or taxes are highest here, or illiteracy is high there, these are all "fun facts", but otherwise worthless statements without further information.

America has been consistently meddling, destabilising and occupying countries across the globe for a very long time. Guess what? They don't look like Haiti. Haiti looks the way that it does for the same reason every society that shares its genetic make-up does.

Your kind of simplistic thinking is exactly what the issue is. Why would you compare all of the countries that America has meddled in as if they were interchangeable pawns on a chess board? Why would you expect them to look the same?
Everyone of these countries has a number of internal and external factors that have helped shape them today. Of course Haiti doesn't look exactly like Iran or Chile or Congo. Why would it?

The "American meathead" has as much control over foreign policy as he does over domestic policy, which is zero. America is a plutocracy masquerading as a democracy, much like the rest of the Western world. These plutocrats want and actively incentivise third world mass migration to Europe and European derived nations as a form of bio warfare.

When did I say that the American meathead had control over foreign policy? The point was that the American meathead shouldn't be talking about foreign policy when he has absolutely no knowledge on the subject. For an American government worker to criticize a Haitian asylum seeker for the state of his country is a complete joke.
What is amazing is, is that you guys will agree that the United States has meddled in and destabilized countries, and then in the very next sentence, you will say that the United States has absolutely no fault or responsibility for the consequences of that meddling and destabilization.
Actively help to destroy a country militarily, politically, and economically, and then put the blame on that country for being a shithole, as well as it being some devious plot by the "plutocrats conducting bio warfare." ZERO self-reflection, or objective look at the situation and how you've contributed to the problem.
Read a book or two.

Incorrect. There was nothing "just the same" about it.
The details matter. Colonization has not been the same in every single place. You're cherry picking and/or are ignorant of the history.

The Spanish had D.R., and France had Haiti. France was much more aggressive with their colonizing and abuse of the people and the land. Haiti's land was deforested and eroded because of the aggressive farming of sugar and coffee--which was supplying half of Europe.
The Dominican is like 75% bigger than Haiti in land size, but Haiti had a higher population because France imported in more slaves. So they had a smaller island, with more people, and less fertile land to feed them.
The relationship between the French and Haitians and the Spanish and Domincans wasn't as hostile. The Dominicans even tried to go back into colony status in the 1860's, while Haiti had to pay reparations to France for their own enslavement.
There was nothing "the same" about the conditions of their colonization.

Not to mention other things like just plain geography. The Dominican is geographically just in a better position to sustain life. The mountains and the trees help to protect it from the elements. And they don't get battered as badly by the storms like Haiti.

And then you completely leave out all of the direct military, political, and economic meddling and destabilization the US has done over a century. We don't have to look at ancient history for these things. The US has helped back and fund corrupt leaders. They have blocked elected leaders from making left wing policies in their own country---like just raising minimum wage.
Made the Haitians kill all of their pigs which was a staple for the poor. Bill Clinton's policies destroyed rice farming in Haiti , which kills their ability to be self sufficient. There are countless other examples.
To say that this is all a result of "Haitian incompetence" is ahistorical and completely absurd.

Haiti still invaded DR with a much bigger army than the DR could muster but got destroyed due to their incompetence.

Maxine Walters said that what she witnessed was “worse than slavery.” Fucking really?

Murdering, raping, whipping, torture was less than chasing down people trying to sneak into the country?

Is there any video of them hitting people with the reigns or just the still shot that looks like he was controlling his horse?

Haiti still invaded DR with a much bigger army than the DR could muster but got destroyed due to their incompetence.
???????

What does that have to do with anything? Who cares about one singular incident that happened 100 years ago between Haiti and DR when we're talking about the entire history of Haiti and its relationship with the United States? When did this become about comparing DR to Haiti? Your attempt to compare the two was wrong and dumb.
When your arguments are "This country is a shithole/bad/incompetent. End of story" You just show your own incompetence.

I love threads like this because they expose people for who they really are.

Gotta love how the "Haitian" speaks flawless Spanish. We have tons of Haitians in Canada; I've never met a single one who spoke fluent Spanish - it's not a thing. They speak French and Creole. The guy's been grifting in the South Americas for a looong time. Not displaced recently by anything. I guess he figured he would try his luck with the next "upgrade."
Uh, plenty of Haitians speak Spanish. I've seen Haitians conversing with Latinos in Spanish plenty of times in the US. Haiti is next to the Dominican Republic and there's been a lot of flow between those two countries for decades, if not centuries. Kind of dumb to judge based on an anecdote from a country with a small Spanish-speaking population like Canada.

That said, sure it's possible or even plausible that the guy hadn't recently been displaced. But judging that by his ability to speak Spanish is stupid. He could have easily picked it up working in the DR as opposed to "grifting in the South Americas" as you so eloquently stated it.

"Shirk responsibility and blame"

He says while writing a thesis rationalising why Haiti is such a cesspit, LOL.

Look pal, over two hundred years of sustained, perpetual shitholeness is a product of the people who live there and nothing else. The conditions that exist there are the same kind of conditions that exist in every sub-saharan nation, because an environment is ultimately a product of a people in the same way that culture is.

Suggesting anything else is a cope, and you're coping very hard right now.

I am not sure why people get offended by the word "shit hole". There are plenty of parts of America that are shit holes as well. I mean, LA has a homeless skid row that is approaching the size of 5 square miles of hell. Haiti is poor with extremely corrupt governments, like many other 3rd world countries. These folks are not escaping oppresion, they are trying to escape poverty. But then they get here and live in our shit holes. Although they get food and housing.

Too stupid to make a cogent reply, and too much of a pussy to just admit that you didn't know what the hell you were talking about.

lol You dumb asses are all the same.
You say something stupid, get checked on your uninformed stupid comment, can't come back with any facts, throw out a gi,f or an "lol why u write essays bro?", and then run a victory lap as you continue to marinate in your stupidity. Your entire post was cope. You said nothing, because you know nothing.

lol at this "you writing essays" bullshit. You came to the politics part of the board to talk about complex issues like immigration, racism, and history, and then call 3 paragraphs a thesis. Good stuff, chud.

It's one thing when you're calling parts of your own country a shithole, it's another when you're saying it about foreign countries. There is much more of an air of superiority when you say that--it's always said in a manner where you are looking down on them. It makes it sound like they are a shitty country because they're some backwards, evil nation.

But it's especially offensive when your country is contributing to making these shitholes, and keeping these countries in shithole status.

Rambling incoherent nonsense topped off with the gayest, most ineffectual of insults.

The only complexity relating to Haiti is the arguments people like you need to explain why it's a shitty country. It's the same mental gymnastics required to explain the shitty standards set by any sub-saharan African nation, city or community in general. All to avoid having to address the very black elephant in the room.
