Seems like this story isn’t being told a lot but Vegas Casino MGM was hit on Sunday and still doesn’t have full access to their own systems after 4 day, people have reported cash only and locked in their hotel rooms and today Caesars got hit with had their data stolen.

Now aren’t casino supposed to have the best cyber security in the world, should be up there with the banks and Govt. What is going on? Hope they catch these hackers quick.

I was under the impression that both banks and government systems are very easy to shutdown. The hackers just see reason to doing it since it leads no where. Also what is the point of shutting down their systems if nobody is going to pay?

I'm sure they got a lot of malware on their systems

Sounds like whoever did this is going to do some serious prison time. It's not like catfishing some old lady, they actually try to catch you and send you away for ripping off billionaires.

is it really that easy to catch them?

any cyber security experts on this site?

Also on a side note. It is probably for the greater good that a casino is shut down. They do the most harm to society, even more than drugs.

Hackers are scum but at least these guys targeted the worst part of society.

There is some bad data out there about this and I am not sure why .. Here is a message from the group .. MGM cyber has always been low tier for their size. I almost took a job there but the pay was garbage.

No, probably not that easy, but surely possible if they're making calls to the help desk, sending ransom demands, and have someplace to send the ransom. If it's a group of people, someone is bound to slip up somewhere and they just need to catch one.

I'm no expert but from the random videos I've seen the only time people get caught is when they brag lol

It actually seems like an impossible task to catch anyone if they don't want to get caught. I think they try to make it seem harder than it is so more people don't do it.

Most of the phone swim swap scams where they steal your bank app from your phone happens through calls as well. It's actually scary how easily most people can get hacked just through simple information. It seems like they can't track your voice either since most people don't even use voice changes when doing this.

Cleaning the money would be the hardest part here I guess. That is the easiest to track I would assume.

I'm sure it's hard as hell to catch them. I watched a couple videos on how they took down a couple of the dark web guys and it's always some stupid little thing. Like the Alphabay guy left his personal email address visible in one of the welcome emails in the early days of the website. Something like that.
