Wondering why Herb Dean didn't take a point away? The fouls looked intentional to me, anyone else?

That eye poke situation was handled horribly. It led to Masvidal being put in a really disadvantageous position for majority of round 1.
These refs and judges should be held accountable for these mistakes.

Herb shouldn't be near UFC cards anymore IMO or retire.

You can’t take a point away for the first foul unless you’ve done it your whole career. And if you’re talking about Herb and the fouls he lets Conor get away with.. There it is.

They should take a point for all eyepokes if it’s obvious the fighter is keeping his hands open against the rules of pointing your fingers towards the ceiling.

Enough whining. You all think you’re the judge, jury, and executioner.

There were a couple months last year when the refs were quickly warning fighters about finger placement and taking points because of eye pokes. Those months of good reffing seems to have ended.

The eye poke might have been. The groin shot wasn’t intentional though.

That av is impressively done.

I have a bigger problem with Herb giving the hard warning between rounds for a foul he didnt even see.

Herb said he reviewed the replay between rounds, so he did see. The back-up Ref watches on screen and can report or make a replay call. This part makes sense…. As bad as Herb is, this was not egregious.

Herb has actually seen plenty of eye pokes WITHOUT giving a hard warning, even to notorious serial offenders.

So you’re able to decide intent? This is exactly why every fouls should result in a point deduction. It’s dumb.

The knee was intentional. As others have said may as well try to get away with it especially if the refs in a bad position
