Who was the best Seattle grunge singer?

Chris Cornell then a close call between Layne Staley and Eddie Vedder.

Smashing Pumpkins
Nope. His vocals are the reason Smashing Pumpkins are not widely recognized as one among of the GOAT bands. They have excellent material, but that fucking voice.

I wouldn't mind hearing other top singers cover Smashing Pumpkins songs.

Indeed. My friends from Cuba did a cover on Bullet With Butterfly Wings (they have an unusually proficient singer for a local circuit band) and it was freaking awesome.

I'm more of a PJ fan (well 10 and VS)

But I gotta say it's either between Layne or Chris.

Over the holidays I was staying up late and just exploring youtube

came across this

Before he went far down with the drugs his voice was amazingly good live.

I was never a big fan of Soundgarden, but Cornell had the best all around voice. The guy could sing.

Pearl Jam was my favourite. Every album up until Riot Act (2002) was at least listenable. They haven't had even a decent album since then.

Listen to this and try and tell me it's not Chris Cornell

No debate after this song, sorry

I think if you picked anyone other than cornell and/or layne you need your head examined.

Eddie's like "I don't care who you pick, because"
