Inspired by this thread.

Mods merge the poll with the thread if you like.

So who's the most popular of all time?

My pick is this.

Montserrat Caballé
It's all over when the fat lady sings.

Half of the women in your poll don't even play a musical instrument. Change to singer or performer?

Are any female instrument players as iconic as any of the singers really? What have we got... Nancy Wilson, Lita Ford, Candy Dulfer?

Someone of those on the list are popular with high sales but I wouldn't say iconic.

When I think of the word iconic it's usually used in the context of you actually transforming something like in this case lyrics, fashion, live performances, dance.

Out of those choices I would say Beyonce reached the highest level of fame and had the most influence. Maybe Brittany or Madonna had a higher peak though, not sure

I voted Whitney because I like her the best and she has the best voice of the bunch. I doubt she's the most famous though.

You can leave Madonna and Swift on that list, and drop the rest. Its them two, and then all others. Not even a discussion to be honest.

If you handed a guitar to 90% of that list they’d leap back with fear and loathing. “Musicians” lol

I would add the following to your poll:

Aretha Franklin
Tina Turner
Diana Ross
Dolly Parton

From that list, I voted for Whitney Houston based off her vocals.
