Why is Colby Covington hated for his trash talk so much?

Probably because Colby's success right now (in terms of getting the big fights) shows how important trash talking is in the UFC, which many people aren't fans of. The dude has no natural charisma and is still getting a huge push by the UFC. I mean, he and Usman have the same styles, but look at who's getting the rub. Usman is on a far better streak.

Any fighter that runs the smack talk automatically turns off some fans. That is all your seeing with Colby. Persoally, I like listening to guys like Colby, Conor, Chael, Diaz boys, and many others. It's so much more refreshing than the typical fighter talk.

I am neutral about the guy. Don't really care about him.

But I see why people struggle to buy his act. I mean he portrays himself as a badass but then calls the cops on Werdum for throwing a toy and now he hires armed bodyguards to escort him to every event. Also the hired porn stars/hoverhand thing was funny.

I think he just sucks at being a bad guy but he tries so hard anyway coming across weird and just classless sometimes.

Also I have the strong suspicion that he has hired supporters on here or has friends do it for him or even does it himself. However some of these threads on here are just weird. But they fit him in a way.

Also many people like myself don't get turned on by trashtalk.

I prefer humble killers and those who live martial arts.

His schtick is too contrived. there's nothing natural about it. He rents pornographic actors to sit with him in a video where he reads off a cue card with no punctuation written in one long paragraph. Maybe it gets him more followers on social media, but it sounds flat out bad to a regular. It's worse than aTommy Wiseau movie.

The funniest part is that his generic heel act is actually working. Just about everyone is talking about him whenever he says something controversial.

Why is this?

Conor was witty, congenial, and authentic. Colby is fake, rehearsed, and timid like a 4th grader giving a book report. He lets it fly on twitter but freezes like a naked kid in a cold pool in front of an audience. Also his fights fuckin blow mucus diahhrea through a fan. Lee punched Chiesa when push came to shove. Conor patted Aldo on the head, hit Nate’s hand, threw a water bottle, threw a chair (not that this is hard, it just shows there’s more than talk) and also put on amazing entertaining performances. Colby calls the cops when he’s hit by a boomerang and stays quiet with a creepy smile on his face when usman spits some street at him.
