I've been putting off installing the Win10 Fall Creators update because some people were reporting issues when it went live. Apparently there are some other cumulative updates being released today so I can't delay much longer. I was just wondering if anyone has had any issues, especially with Steam and games?

Nothing with Steam afaik but it fucked with my copy of acrobat until I rebooted a couple of times.

since i updated windows 10 my browser starts automatically where it left off everytime i boot up

kinda annoying because i have to make sure i shut down teh porn before i shut down the pc

That's good to hear. I've got everything running nicely now so I don't really want to do it but I know the security updates are important. Also the reminder prompt is going to drive me insane if I wait much longer.

Sounds like my kind of browser.

Nothing, aside from it resetting so many of my display and text size settings. They never learn that shit pisses people off. But hey, it's basically still a goddamn beta.

Cool thanks. Yeah one thing that really annoys me about Win10 is the resized windows when you exit a game. The other is messed up desktop icons after a restart. First world problems and all but fixing that stuff is such a pain in the ass.

Just the other day, my laptop was slow and stuck at 100% cpu usage. I googled the .exe file that was using so much cpu power when I had absolutely nothing running and it was some MS Office file. I then made my anti-virus software deny that file from running.

What I hate is that in every update, they hijack my display settings in the amd settings. I hate that. I have to tweak the display every time.

My desktop went insane and stopped booting. I had to use recovery software from a USB drive and do a shit load command line bullshit. Bootmanager bsd fuckery.

That's pretty scary. Still haven't updated mine so maybe I should create a disk image prior to installing, just in case.

At least prepare a bootable repair USB.

I almost had to call a service guy and have never had to do that over 30 years - at least for software.

yep, its running like garbage. my cpu usage shot up to 100% for no reason

Sorry to hear. From what I've read this is a pretty major update so they must have added some bloatware.

Haven't had a single problem thus far thankfully.

So after installing the update a few weeks ago, my PC actually seems to boot faster and I haven't had any of the problems being reported online.

However... one issue I have had is with my home network. My Linux and Win7 machines sometimes lose connectivity to my router (they wouldn't even show up in the DHCP client list after restarting the router). Apparently the Fall Creators update breaks SMB or causes problems with NetBIOS over TCP/IP when it becomes the Master Browser.

So to prevent my Win10 machine from ever becoming the Master Browser, I disabled the Computer Browser service and edited the registry to change MaintainServerList to "No" and then restarted all my devices. So far so good but what a pain.
