Woodley v Paul has rematch clause if Woodley wins

assuming Jake Paul wants a rematch after getting knocked the fuck out.

Its weird this fight is even happening. Woodley isnt really a big name relative to the threat he poses, and Jake could easily fight Floyd after Logan for much more money and attention.

that's nothing new

anyway Woodley has lost already

What can you say - the kid really wants to see how far he can take it. All props to him IMO.

Double payday Woodley gets to give Paul CTE x2. Fuck yeah.

Tf? Why? Is Jake a champion pro boxer or did I miss something ?

What does that have to do with anything lol.

It's a negotiation; a contract, a contract to fight and common term of a fight contract.

It's not reserved for championship fighters. Everything is open to negotiation, this is capitalism.

Not sure he'll want a rematch if T-Wood KO's him stiff.

Is it weird that I'm not confident Woodly wins this?

?? He's a former, not to distant UFC champion.

Even during the Askren build up Woodley seemed to be highlighted all most as much as Askren was.

Woodley was the natural progression.

If Woodley wins, a rematch will probably only be easier for Woodley. Dude only gonna sharpen his boxing skills more for a second fight.
Quite the opposite imo. Woodley is much older than jake. The more time pass, the less he has a chance

"relative to the threat he poses"

Askren is considered to be one of the worst male strikers ever to enter the UFC, Woodley is considered to be one of the biggest punchers ever at this weight class, but has never been one of MMAs bigger names. The risk/reward for Jake is pretty poor in this fight unless Woodley has agreed to take a dive.

Dude isn't gonna age that much more in 3-6 months. He's already old and boxing training is a lot less rough on the body than MMA, too. So it will be relatively easy for him in that aspect. If they do the rematch 2 years later, then yeah, that's probably a bigger disadvantage.

LOL at you guys that think Woodley stands a chance, betting the house on Paul.

But you also have to consider that Paul would also improve during that time, and since he's younger and less experienced in combat sport, id expect him to improve more

Why would Woodley need to take a dive? There's a rematch clause for a reason and it's not for Woodley's benefit

I doubt it. Woodley has a lot of striking and fighting experience. He just won't be able to really translate it all to boxing, because of the differences in the striking games. But the more time he gets to train, the more he can translate/transform his MMA & general athletic competition experience to where it's more effective in boxing. Paul will also progress, but I doubt it will be in the same steps as Tyron. Although it's also really dependent on who they are training with & under.

Also, if Paul gets KTFO! he will have to deal with the aftermath of that, which he isn't used to at all and might really get in the way of his progression.

Great for Woodley. He's going to make more money in 2 boxing matches than he made in his entire UFC career.
This is true. But he’s only in the position to do this because of that UFC career.

I just hope he wins and doesn’t shit the bed.

Winning, and getting a second payday in the rematch, probably helps Woodley find some motivation here beyond just showing up thinking he’s got this
