That said it's not impressive, because if MMA paid as well as NFL/NBA there would be much more explosive/athletic guys training wrestling from a young age. Jones is only a champion because of the fact that the athletic monsters who would destroy him even with barely 50-75% of the total training time he had are in the NFL and NBA.

What you think Zion Williamson or Lebron James wouldn't become D1 wrestlers if they started in elementary/middle school? Jfl, monsters like that would probably run through the UFC HW division with just 2-3 years of training at a good camp starting in their early 20s. Wilder was an olympic boxer within that time frame.
