I get why people might not, but he has a good list of movies I'll circle back to (and a long list I won't, and another long list I've never seen). His good movies are good. These past 15 years have been, mostly, no bueno.

I can never get past the first few pages and I can't fathom why. Nothing sticks. And for some reason I'm trying to make way through GRAVITY'S RAINBOW.

It’s a good book but it isn’t a simple read thru (from what I recall). The story doesn’t grab you the way most of his others do. I’m sure at some point you’ll power thru it and settle into the story. But think I get what you mean.. it’s been a minute since I read it but I feel like I recall my reaction being similar at the start.
