I never really use it, only if I have to use an external app of something requires a tweet to receive reward.

But man has this thing gone down the swanny. My timeline is littered with extremist and violent content of people I don't even follow. The people I do follow don't show up in my feed. I receive notifications promoting hate groups I have never head of. My algorithm seems to push out things I'm actually interested in.

The Mayor of Paris called it a sewer pushing hate and stressing social tensions. Normally I'd argue the content is relevant to your interests but this seems to be completely gone. It's littered with praise for dictatorships, and calls for genocide.

NM the ads intersecting every tweet ... or X or whatever they're called now.

I never had an account there.
There were certain accounts I used to read, via Google search.
But after Elon came in, they blocked all non-users from accessing posts and comments. A few times they reverted and allowed non-users to read posts, but then blocked it again. But comments have been invisible to non-users for quite a while now.
Why did they do this?

Hilarious how pretty much everyone that says it "is much worse now" or whatever is a Dem voter. No, it isn't worse because Elon owns it. No you don't get more "extremist content" unless you're searching garbage yourself and the algorithms are rewarding you for your searches. It's the same. Tribalism on full display in here.

Just my experience, but I never noticed any relevant shift in political ideologies when Musk took over. Something political would be trending and tards of all political ideologies would be arguing for days and that hasn't changed at all.

What I did notice is that the spam and porn went out the roof. Like, I'm no prude but if I'm sitting around and check Twitter for sports news I shouldn't have to scroll through like 20 vids of some camwhore taking it in the ass before actually finding relevant news. They did seem to get a bit better about keeping the porn stuff away in the corner where people who actively use twitter to find porn can still do so (I understand it's a fairly common use) while those who'd rather not have that stuff pop up in their search feeds can actually use twitter around family/friends etc.

Now their problem seems to be comment bots but I don't really care because I just use it (whenever I still do) for sports news

Thats odd, I haven't noticed any increase in porn. I guess the algorithm handles people differently.

I don't know for sure if it is an increase but I still see porn bots (mostly OF girl ads) and normal bots. Maybe there are less, but they are 100% still there.

I don't think twitter is worse, but it is different. Not sure if his changes have been better or worse, honestly. It's definitely not apparently improved.. the spaces are a cool edition, not sure if he was behind that or not though.

Yeah, the restrictions on reading comments is weird to me. So was the decision that you couldn't maximize videos if you were watching them embedded somewhere else (I don't know if that one's still happening).

It's made me less interested in tweets, not more.

Maybe most conservatives really are concerned with border security, but a pretty big chunk of them are only thinking "fuck brown people". The messaging has a lot of overlap and it's obvious to anyone who isn't a moron. Fentanyl isn't going to be stopped by a wall and the vast majority of illegal immigration is white overstays, but conservatives only care about stopping as many brown people as possible.

All because the guy in charge of the country is a Liberal. That's how he views the world, and his selective claims of racism. Now, if it had happened under a conservative's watch, he'd be going on about how Canada is a hot bed for Nazi's, and find articles about the PM's 2nd cousin's paperboy donning blackface(another thing he only cares about when Conservatives do it) in 1965, to back him up.
