See, this is how you respond. Instead of clutching their pearls and feigning outrage the left needs to get with the times.

Truly a man of the people, by the people, and for the people.

TRUMP!

don't get the applause
dumbest tweet this week by far, especially those who support him should see it that way
this will haunt him 100%
the next time some random dumbass is only remotely violent towards a reporter they will say 'well, even our president posts videos which show him beating down reporters, this is Trump's America now'
let alone if some violent, politically motivated attack happens

No need to respond with irony.
It's objectively a dumb move and provides his opposition with ammunition.
I assume he wants to be reelected. The crowd which enjoys that kind of memes doesn't win an election.
He should be working on becoming more popular, not unnecessarily making himself look like a clown every day.

You think for a second Trump knows how to attach video to his tweets?

So it's even worse that somebody other than Trump thought this was a great thing to tweet. Somebody in the innermost circle to have Trump's twitter password and ability to tweet under his handle thought it was a good idea to post this. So Trump isn't the only petulant child with Oval Office access.

He's playing to his base. He said violent, inflammatory things throughout his campaign and was elected. He needs to be fighting somebody - which is why he always brings up Obama and Hillary still. And which is why he's picking fights with the media. He needs it "us" vs "them" to distract from his utter do-nothing failure of a Presidency, under investigation, wholly corrupt, for sale, fill the swamp, Trumpcare shitsandwich.

I disagree.

Professional Wrestling isn't real.

Much like a movie, it's a form of entertainment that requires the suspension of disbelief.

When someone continues to have a strong emotional reaction long after a movie is over, it confesses one of two things about that person:

A: They may be incapable of managing their emotions in any adult sence.

B: They may have a harder time distinguishing fantasy from reality.

Either case is the sign of a weak minded individual.

If a news anchor were to take the angle you mentioned in your post, they confess either an inability to manage their own emotions, or an inability to distinguish fantasy from reality.
If either of those is the case, the audience will pick up on it quickly.

Trump has no base capable of winning a presidential election.
He won because of many factors, including badly timed scandals on Hillary's end, the fact that she was a bad and uncharismatic candidate and a large enough group of people who vote for the Republican by default and didn't stay at home just because they didn't like Trump.

Somehow Trump convinced all you guys that he is the only source of true news and that's dangerious and really exposes America as looking even dumber to the world after electing him in the first place.

Why not? People who don't like it won't see it anyway
