It depends on state law, but in most states I believe, only mandatory reporters, like teachers, school employees, psychiatrists, social workers, etc. are legally obligated to report. I also think, at least under some state laws, that telling your supervisor and not necessarily police counts as reporting and is not legally punishable. For instance, in the Sandusky case, Joe Paterno wasn't charged because when McQueary reported to him what he had seen Sandusky doing with a boy in the shower, Sandusky informed his supervisor, which met the legal requirement. But Paterno's supervisor was legally charged because he didn't inform police. I also think in some states, ALL adults are considered to be mandatory reporters. It's kind of a complicated and evolving legal issue...

interesting theories, and that makes sense, however i still haven't seen any evidence of him actually raping a chick. the only reason i am sticking up for this slob is that i hate to see where unsubstantiated charges basically make someone guilty even if i don't personally like them.
 
Doesn't surprise that this is happening. There is a lot of people in the business doing the same thing. Just imagine how much this is going on in the porn industry.

Either way your message I replied to tho was categorically incorrect. You questioned why anyone who can attract women consentually would need to force themselves on someone, implying that forcing yourself on others is simply about physical sexual gratification. When that is the thing it is least about. .

Still, the revelations have put them in an annoyingly awkward spot. In due course, they will all release carefully worded condemnations of Weinstein, with the possible exception of Bill, who may follow the example of the taciturn Ted Kennedy at the Clarence Thomas hearings and maintain a prudent silence.

It appears that some of the silence, especially in Hollywood circles, is due to doubts about whether or not the monster is dead. SNL‘s Lorne Michaels, who has become every inch of the rich phony his show is supposed to skewer, killed any jokes about Weinstein on the unconvincing grounds that Americans didn’t care about a “New York thing.” The more likely explanation is that he didn’t want to offend a powerful peer to whom he owed innumerable favors. Other hosts, dependent on the good graces of the brothers gross at the Weinstein Company for guests, also shied away from any jokes, as they waited to see if the monster was dead.

Meanwhile, big liberal stars are playing dumb about Weinstein’s widely known goatish reputation. Meryl Streep had her platoon of publicists craft a wooden statement denying any knowledge of her patron’s misdeeds. St. Streep wanted it known that she stood with “the women,” but primarily she sought to inoculate herself from the scandal. Judi Dench also issued a wooden statement. Weinstein used to brag that Dench had his initials “tattooed on her ass” (such was her gratitude to him for launching so many of her movies). Maybe Dench will bill the Weinstein Company for tattoo removal.
 
At least Weinstein has one defender it seems -

Its the same as Bill Cosby situation.
One person accuses, its hard to judge. But you soon realised this guy was a sicko.

Now with this Weinstein guy There's women coming out of the woodwork, now three accusations of rape. There's no doubt in my mind this guy is a sicko. Sadly, just like Cosby this guy is powerful and has enough money to evade justice.
