A few things to consider

- Chemically castrating the perp is not always a solution, there are cases where they just used other means to rape again.

- Saying lock them up, they'll have a hard time in prison with the other inmates, not really affective as they'll be in protection.

- I get why some are opposed to the death sentence, I do. Innocent people have been executed before, but, just like in this chase dangerous offenders get out, and their crimes escalate and children end up tortured and murdered.

I guess my point is there is no perfect solution, but what ever the system is doing right now it is not working.

This is a terrible and dirty subject. The truth has been in front of us for years and yet no one of consequence actually cares. Years ago Senator John Decamp wrote a definitive piece on this horrific reality. It was made into a documentary that never aired. It was for either history channel or discovery channel.

Cantor's research suggest pedophilia is a fixed sexual attraction caused by brain abnormalities. Not to be confused with child molesters, some of whom abuse children for power reasons but aren't actually attracted to them. Female pedophiles are almost non-existent. It's possible that males have a biological vulnerability to having their sexuality altered. We know that some of the victims of pedophiles end up becoming pedophiles themselves. But not all of them, many pedophiles have had no such experience. It's possible that there are multiple types of pedophiles: some are born, some are made. Experiences physically alter the brain, so the line is blurred between a congenital abnormality and the result of a crooked developmental path.

Either way, I don't think weird porn is making people into pedophiles. It's existing pedophiles who are searching for porn that fits their criteria. I think the only real solution is research. We can't fix something we don't understand. We've managed to make pills for schizophrenics and people with bipolar disorder, which also involves brain abnormalities, there's no reason we couldn't do it with pedophilia.

I'm not a doctor, but porn probably acts on people with addiction-spectrum disorders in the same way that leads some down the road from soft to hard drugs.

What blows my mind is how so many people are able to turn a blind eye to systematic sexual abuse of minors. We've seen it with the Catholic Church, Jimmy Saville, the grooming gangs in Britain, Sandusky, this fuckin gymnastics scumbag, etc. Many people knew about what was going on and could have done something but didn't. For the life of me I can't understand this mentality.

I think it's gross, but I had an 18 year old gf tell me like 7 years ago that either you'e smart and you know, or you'e dumb and you don't. *shrugs* women' sexuality was repressed to create societies for a reason, I'm starting to think.

Absolutely agreed, things like porn addiction and porn induced ED are problems that are popping up more frequently with the smart phone age.

There is also a proliferation of more extreme fetish sites, including underground rings of pedos and beastiality crap. Who’s to say whether that’s a cause or effect, if you go into the instance of normally straight men no longer getting the same ‘high’ from straight porn, that causes them to graduate to gay porn/ trans porn. If you can make that leap, then I am certain the leap from straight porn to CP is possible, but where is the evidence?

Another issue that modern conservatives and Radical Feminists unknowingly agree on. RadFems have been saying this for years, they just aren't as PC about it, so they haven't gotten backing from either side of the political aisle. But most people in this thread seem to agree that these abusers don't deserve mercy and that our system is complicit, to some degree, in protecting these abusers from what thry deserve. RadFems at least have the balls to identify the culprits, though.

As a guy that works in the legal system I GET the want for permanent incarceration and the castration and all those things that are talked about.

Still, I have seen 3 child rape cases come back as dude's wrongfully convicted and multiple 18-19 year old guys being charged with Child Rape cause they had consensual sex with their 16 year old gfs...... So I'm torn.
