International Trump/Kim Singapore Summit **UPDATE** Korean Denuclearization Agreement Signed

And "legitimizing" the north Korean regime...

I see many libs and leftists regurgitate this talking point.

What does this even mean?

Did Bill Clinton , gwb, Obama all "legitimize " the north Korean government when they negotiated with them?

What do you suggest we do regarding the north Korean situation?

More sanctions?

All out war?
Destruction of nuclear testing sites, destruction of missile testing sites, a halt of all testing, return of hostages, and an agreement to create plans for denuclearization of the peninsula. If the latter fails then we just start up exercises again and we're right back where we started with nothing lost.

One would imagine that everyone would be on board with this .

Unfortunately , this thread has demonstrated otherwise.

Only a certain group of people are unhappy about it and are trying to twist the event trying to put it under a negative light. I think everyone else--that is--most people in the world, have a positive view about Trump and Kim's meeting. It's a big step to peace.

What did Trump get out of the meeting, after cancelling war games and legitimizing one of the more brutal dictators on Earth?

Oh' my God, it's as if you think Trump made some concessions that are set in stone, and are under no certain conditions, wants absolutely nothing in return, and Kim can go back to his old tricks, with no consequences.

Stop peddling bullshit, you hack. You know as well as everyone else does, that what Trump has committed to are conditional.

I tried, I really did but holy crap this (the current White House) is stupid. This apparently isn’t a parody.

The left in a nutshell:

Trump insults and provokes Kim Jung Un:

"Oh' my God, you can't talk to Kim that way! He's gonna kill us all! AHHHHHHH!!!!"

Trump compliments Kim in an effort for diplomacy:

"Trump is just bending over for Kim. Can you believe he's complimenting a ruthless dictator? Why is Trump being so nice to Kim?"

Pa-fucking-thetic.

If you think people aren't seeing through the constant bullshit you guys peddle, you're fooling yourselves. Keep crying, geeks.

You guys really are over emotional on this.

In your mind the two options are threaten nuclear war on Twitter or felate Kim on TV.

Nuclear War or give Kim concessions with nothing in return.

But that isn't the reality. You'll just praise Trump for anything even when he's done nothing.

Why don't you look up the speech Nixon gave while in China.

He talked about the Chinese people and the American people. That's who he was speaking to.

He didn't spend 24 hours praising Mao for loving his people.

But for Trump this is not about the American or Korean people.

Just a want-to-be dictator praising an actual dictator hoping he will return the favor.

I noticed the outrage from Cuban Americans who used to live under the Castro regime even more.

Cuba isn't a nuclear power and hasn't threatened world peace since the 1960's.

North Korea threatens world peace at this very moment.

Cuba and North Korea are not parallels. I'm curious as to why you're attempting to make them so.

Sure they are. People who were upset that we were opening relations with Cuba were upset because Cuba has an oppressive government and commits human rights abuse. In comparison, North Korea makes Cuba seem incredibly mild. North Korean is far, far more extreme in every way.

I am glad we are willing to engage with both of these countries. I think it is a good thing. Nothing good comes from ignoring North Korea, and nothing good comes from the embargo with Cuba.

But I'm willing to acknowledge both of those things. I'm not so twisted by political rhetoric that I pretend it's okay to negotiate with North Korea, but not with Cuba.

Also, several people have mentioned Cuban defectors, and how they did not want the USA opening relations with Cuba.

Have any of you heard opinions from North Korean defectors? Here's one:

“A lot of North Korean defectors hold extreme views” says Heo, one of at least 27,000 North Korean defectors living in South Korea. “They went through a lot of bad things in North Korea and China and they are always against the government and say we should destroy North Korea.”

http://time.com/5309358/kim-trump-summit-north-korean-defectors/

Yes, you read that right. Destroy North Korea, not negotiate with them. Does that mean we should just bomb North Korea into oblivion? No, cooler heads are prevailing and I think we're doing the right thing. Opinions will always be split when you talk to defectors, they went through hell.

North Korea is a piece of shit regime but the only way you can even hope of improving the conditions for the prisoners and the people living in poverty, is by establishing some sort of a dialogue with the regime itself. By somehow getting it through their thick heads that they can also govern a population by giving them carrots instead of the stick.

The problem with NK right now is that they've got no carrots to give. They're isolated from the global market and partake in no trading whatsoever. Technologically and productively they're backwards. The fear of the lash, is all that's keeping the structure in place.

The other possibility is to assassinate the entire government with a squad consisting of Rambos. But that's probably not happening.

People have cried about the plights of North Koreans for 50+ years. But nobody has done jackshit about it. They'll keep crying for them, for another 50 years. Doesn't change the situation at all.

Whatever happens, atleast Trump can say that he tried something. Might not be worth much, but it's still probably worth more than all of the whining and crying.
None of this means Trump has to publicly praise Kim on World wide TV, notice how KIm did not return the compliments. Master negotiator Trump cucked himself.

blah, blah, blah, RESIST!

See, this is the dishonest bullshit I'm talking about. You're being willfully ignorant to an end goal being in mind. It's an ongoing negotiation right now, that's mostly based in good faith. Kim released three prisoners prior to the summit. Trump has now said he'll stop the military exercises. They're both working through a negotiation, and showing each other signs that they're willing to work with each other towards a peaceful resolution.

By all means though, keep screaming "LEGITIMACY!!!" like it matters to anyone outside of your purple haired group of Liberal crybabies. A pool of morons that is getting smaller by the day thanks to people like you. The rest of us will laugh, and dismiss your constant whining, acknowledge the progress made in these negotiations so far, and hope they reach their end goal.

Lol, this thread sucks. Reading through it is pretty difficult at this point.

Seems fairly obvious that I think the US President should discuss US Military operations with his Secretary of Defense before he discusses and commits their operations with Rogue Dictator who is at odd with American Foreign Policy Interests.

And Foreign Policy is the main reason I'm anti Trump
so you are for more spending and more debt? smart.
policing the world doesn't work anymore...time to wake up.

Partisan Hackery 101:

When you hate the current president more than you love this country you will cheer for failure.

It's truly mind boggling to see liberals and leftists shit on diplomacy.

I applaud folks like you, Jack Savage and johnny Ringo for being at least consistent.

however, more and more I realize, I have little in common with the left.

Their behavior, and attitude on this issue has been absolutely disgusting.

are you referring to strategic bombings of these missle testing sites? or NK voluntarily destroying them?
