Pedraza landed 117 punches, including 35% power punches, 28% total against Tank Davis in 7 rounds.

Pedraza landed 111 punches, only 18% power punches, 11% total against Loma in 12 rounds.

Tank knocked him out because he has more punching power than Loma.

But this illustrates that there are levels to this game, and Loma's defense is far superior.

Btw, Mikey is getting KOed by Loma in September (after he gets KOed by Spence in March).

There's certainly an argument to be made for that.

Keep in mind Pedraza was out 9 months prior to fighting Tank, he had some lack luster wins due to inactivity and reportedly due to contractual issues with Lou Dibella, and even admitted to having a horrible camp and weight cut. He wasn't his best. He probably doesn't beat Tank due to the power edge anyway, but he probably puts up a better effort.

Against Loma, he was active, coming off a great win over Beltran, and didn't look drained.

It's hard to compare the performances as they were very different kinds of fights.

[edit:

When asked, Pedraza says Lomachenko>Davis, for what that's worth.

Lomachenko is clearly undersized at lightweight though and Mikey's team have fucked up by going for Spence instead of going straight to Lomachenko.

Pedraza at 135 > Pedraza at 130

I dont know what is the fuzz about.
Pedraza looked good, Lomachenko got the win anyway.
I think Lomachenko is already undersized to his current weightclass and he definitely should fight Mikey.
Stupid fight to take same Mikey vs Spence is stupid.

Lomachenko has been looking so good that even when he does not put superb master class he is exposed, overrated etc.
Sometimes you just got to grind the victory and he did so against very game opponent.

Pedraza fought extremely well and Loma’s right arm didn’t appear to be 100% either.

Actually, going for Spence first is the smart fight as there's no co-promotional hang ups and it's a PPV payday for Mikey and even if he loses(as most expect), it doesn't diminish the prospects of a fight with Loma. As a professional in this sport, you have a limited amount of time to make money, you don't turn down opportunities like that.

Good points. I do think however that Mikey is going to get hurt by Spence and he won't be the same fighter after it, so his chances vs. Lomachenko are going to reduce. I guess we'll see how it all pans out.

Loma's arm was clearly an issue that I'm surprised more people aren't bringing it up. He threw about 2 lead hooks the whole fight when it's normally one of his signature punches. Either he was worried about injuring it or it was fully healed. Lomachenko just handled Pedraza with one arm.

Reminder to excuse makers- Davis knocked Pedraza out. Lomachenko looked so flat that people thought something was wrong with him.

Notice to Loma haters, Loma fought with one arm maybe just maybe that's why he looked a little flat?

The Ukrainian, who suffered a torn labrum in his right shoulder in that bout and had surgery the same month, says he’s “100 percent” for his return.

"He has gotten himself into excellent physical shape," ElAttrache noted. As for whether he is at all concerned about Lomachenko's shoulder heading into a fight just six months following an extensive labral repair, ElAttrache, who is also the team physician for the Los Angeles Rams, draws a comparison to NFL players recovering from similar procedures who are often cleared to return to action at six months. "He has been sparring and making heavy contact with his surgically-repaired shoulder since August. I'm not worried about him throwing punches."

You can't dispute the facts, Lomachenko threw no more than a couple of lead hooks all night against Pedraza. Whether that was because he was merely concerned about popping his shoulder again or whether it wasn't fully 100% is by the by. FACT he beat Pedraza using only one arm.

Sounds like an excuse not supported by him pre fight or his own doctor.
