Afghanistan is called, "The Graveyard of Empires" for a reason. This was as inevitable as what happened to the Soviets in the 80's and the British Empire a century before them.

What's funny is the people who vehemently backed all these operations in the ME initially now conveniently disavow all of it and now act like they are the anti-war people and it was the other side behind it all along.

Afghanistan should be partioned by this point. Tajikistan takes part, Pakistan the other, then independent Afghanistan
 
Someone said to me a long time ago something that’s always stuck with me whenever the war in Afghanistan gets brought up.

How do you defeat an enemy who’s willing to hump a DSHK 100 miles through the mountains wearing slippers and pajamas to take a single pot shot at a convoy knowing full well the end result is a JDAM landing directly on his head.
 
At least the Taliban will once again outlaw the practice of Bacha bazi in Afghanistan. US troops were powerless to stop the Northern Alliance warlords stealing these little boys for sexual slavery because “different culture, hard to judge.”

Guess I’m trying to find the silver lining in all of this mess.

This, Iran even offered America to help with the Taliban crossing into Iran and Bush snubbed them.
 
Now we just need those war lords like dostum etc that we financed to commit war crimes to help us raise a militia against these taliban who until a week ago we were apparently negotiating with SMH

this whole ordeal has been nothing but a fail! should have just left after OBL went into hiding and Al Qaeda was diminishing. Our extended presence has caused more public to join the terror faction known as taliban since it’s the only perceived opposition to the foreign planted governments.

No one was lied to about Afghanistan - OBL was there and we went to get him. What we should have done was pack up and leave the minute we killed him in Pakistan.
 
Armored Humvees all equipped with either medium or heavy USA machine guns.
