Is the Jon/Ngannou situation the new version of Wand/Chuck?

No. I never got the impression that Chuck and Wand were avoiding each other. Honestly, both seemed to want that fight. It just hadn't worked out with them spending the majority of their careers in different organizations. The fight happened pretty quickly once Wand was under the UFC banner. Jones and Ngannou stayed mighty quiet about each other when they were under the same banner but both started chirping like a bird as soon as Ngannou was out and the fight couldn't happen.

So, based on literally nothing, you blindly accept that he was offered more money than anyone else in UFC history because Dana White told you so.
The thing is, that's not even what Dana said. He said he had been offered more than any other heavyweight.

So all it really means is that he offered Francis more than they paid Brock to fight Hunt in 2016....and that's if you believe Dana...which nobody should.

Right took him 3 years to blow up to 245 when he was 245 all along? The guy was lean af. That being said almost all LHW’s walk around heavy like that between camps. Many fucking 55’ers are 185-195 between camps ffs. You’re just singling out and hating. And no fucking way any LHW cuts 245 - 220 week of the fight literally impossible. He never had issues with weight cutting because he fought fairly light and lean.

Dumbest 70IQ rage post. Some guys do lose 20-25lbs before they get to cutting during an entire 8 week fucking camp because they get out of shape between fights. If you actually think Jon Jones or anyone cuts 25lbs in a week and then cuts 15-20lb of water you’re insane and your lack of a high school diploma and hillbilly genes are surfacing.

His performances would be so bad. Imagine Jon Jones the weight he fought Gane (where he admitted he actually gained some weight for the weigh ins to try and mind game), cutting from that 245lb body to 220-222lb in a week and being lean and mean on fight night and onward Rotf, how’s Alabama this time of year?
I will type slower so that you can understand.... he cuts weight so that he is 220lbs on fight week, then cuts the rest as water weight. However long it takes him to get to 220lbs was not discussed but he did say that his walk around weight is 245lbs.

nganou declined the biggest payday in the ufc history
those new deals he claims are all lies imo
pfl would get bankrupt any sane man knows this
hes lying to save face
Or you’re lying to save face

nah wand and chuck were different in that rampage destroyed chuck but got destroyed by wanderlei. both jones/francis beat gane. this is more like a fedor HW type not going forward with the UFC.

He does what all LHW’s do but manages to be lighter than many of them in the cage (lighter than Rumble, DC, Nemkov, Walker, Rampage, Reyes and like 80% of LHW’s. He only walked around heavy like that between one camp anyways and you’re absolutely full of shit. He wasn’t 240 between every camp it was a one time thing. Rampage, Griffin and others are around 250 between camps. Again, just hating and chapped it’s clear.

No, I think both Chuck and Wand would have taken the fight at any point, it was just promoter politics which resulted in it happening years late, Jones looks like he actively ducked Francis.
Lol!
Jones ducked a guy that turned down the highest pay ever to fight him?

<WhatIsThis>

Im starting to really understand how we elected a reality star to the highest office.

No way. If we’re looking at best case scenario they pull Wand from the 06 tourney after his win over Fujita he and Chuck get shelved until September 07 (which would have been a reasonable amount of time really, champs fighting once a year is kind of the norm now). Then they run the UFC/Pride title unification between The Iceman vs The Axe Murderer. It would have been a monster fight.

Still salty things went the way they did. No comparison.

Jones only came out of the woodwork when it was clear Ngannou was leaving, he had the chance to fight him previously and he priced himself out of it mysteriously sitting on the shelf for 3 years "getting ready".

Francis needs Jon more than the reverse if we are talking legacy.

Francis is 1-2 in title fights

Jon is 16-0 in title fights

Francis lost to Derrick Lewis……..

Jon doesn’t need Francis at all his legacy is cemented more than anyone else.

Dusting Gane who was a rough out for Francis is as close as it will get and Jon looked great there.

Both guys are great though.
Good post

The Axe Murderer vs Iceman debate was one the first who's better than who mma debates I ever had. The people who only watched ufc would say chuck and the pride followers would say Wand. By the time they actually fought they both weren't Champs and the fight lost that extra luster.

You are missing the key element. Chuck had the opportunity to face Wand when both were in their prime, but he was obliterated by Rampage while Wand demolished him. That settled it for every fight fan who wasnt a braindead fanboy following a brand.

Wand in his prime was more than a notch above Chuck who made his name defeating wrestlers. Chuck was really good no question but you could see vs. Rampage how lacking his stand up was vs top notch opponents. A very green Overeem a round earlier also got the better of him until he gassed out.

Chuck in Pride his whole career would have been a good lower top 10 fighter but never even close to the title.

Jon agreed everything many months before Francis left they waited for Ngannou to March even in 2021 September was said that Jon fights Ciryl/Ngannou winner

According to Jones best bud Dana, he knew Francis was not going to take another UFC deal.

Had his chance to fight him previously and priced himself out as I said, really shouldnt be a discussion.
