Some very intriguing fight at HW I've always wanted to see. I've put a year beside the fighter for their best shape. Who wins these fights??

Cro Cop (2005) vs Gane (Current)
Big Nog (2006) vs Stipe (2017)
Barnett (2006) vs Werdum (2016)
Fedor (2008) vs Cormier (2017)
Alex Emelianenko (2006) vs Ngannou (current)
Arlovski (2006) vs JDS(2011)
Sergei Kharitonov (2006) vs Pavlovich (current)
Mir (2008) vs Blaydes (current)
Carwin (2008) vs Hunt (2015)
Sylvia (2004) vs Volkov (current)
Couture (2003) vs Cain (2013)
Tank (1996) vs Nelson (2013)
Rizzo (2002) vs Overeem (2011)

Modern win the rest

Aleks vs Francis is just laughable

And here we go again : imaginary scenarios out of frustration, because all those so-called legends already got exposed outside of Japan.

So some salty nostalgics have to rewrite history again and again on Sherdog {<jordan}

What the hell are you going on about?? This is nothing do do with Japan.

You gotta a chip on your shoulder there kiddo.

This thread is nothing more than a fantasy fights.

They just can't accept it Pride HWs suck as much as todays HWs. they act like Pride HWs are like Boxing 90s HWs lol

Not really based on organization, more fighter vs fighter .
I think he means we need to know the ruleset and fighting environment since Pride and UFC have different length 1st rounds, different rules, judging and fighting areas, it kind of changes a lot.

Rizzo (2002) vs Overeem (2011)

My quick picks.

Crocop/Gane - Crocop wins a probably razor close striking match but I favour his power over Gane. I think Gane is trickier but it's hard to be slick against a KB vet like Crocop. Gane getting caught by Tai also has me thinking Crocop would be able to get his kicks off since he has the feet to cut off Gane's footwork.

Stipe/Nog - Stipe would box the ears off of Nog and stuff the shots, most likely look like Fedor/Nog 2? Nog was durable as hell but Stipe in his prime was a very contained striker who wouldn't gas himself out or fight outside of himself.

DC/Fedor - Honestly DC might be able to wrestle his way to a safe win but I'd like to think as a Fedor fan that he could do what Stipe did and do more damage than DC's clinch does and force scrambles whenever DC tries to control Fedor. Fedor's gas tank would fare better too.

JDS kills Arlovski

Mir/Blaydes - It's a hard fight to call, no way in hell it hits the ground but Mir being a southpaw with an aggressive clinch game might be enough to cause Blaydes to fold since Mir was a pretty heavy hitter for a sub specialist and Blaydes seems to have a weird habit of giving up on his defence against guys with no fear of his wrestling.

Hunt/Carwin - Hard to see Hunt stuff the takedown.... also hard to see Hunt get finished and Carwin not gas... Weird fight but if Hunt doesn't get finished in the 1st a gassed Carwin is getting mauled in the 2nd or 3rd round.

Sylvia/Volkov - Weird fight but interesting. Volkov is a heavy hitter but Sylvia's weakness seemed to be wrestle/boxers.... I'd probably pick Volkov to finish quickly but Sylvia surviving early and using his boxing to win a decision wouldn't shock me either. He gets a ton of hate but Sylvia was a solid HW with good striking and horrible defence in the pocket which Volkov doesn't present much of a threat there.

My most controversial opinion is Gane beats CroCop. His striking is just more varied and dynamic. Most RHK KO’s happened when fighters were standing in front of CroCop cut off in a ring. So as we have seen CroCop loses a part of his game in a large cage.

Stipe beats Nog
Barnett that fought Mir beats Werdum
Fedor does not beat DC in a cage
Ngannou and JDS win easily
No idea about Sergei vs Pavlovich - not enough info on the later
Mir, Carwin, Big Tim, Cain, Nelson and Reem win

This has nothing to do with Pride vs UFC. Half those fights are UFC vs UFC
