I mean look how great the US is doing under the current administration. Wide open borders, massive inflation, housing crisis, infrastructure issues, random wildfires, random food and processing plant fires, zombie drug areas in major cities, increased crime, and other serious issues.

And giving tax breaks to the rich will help all that, crime is actually decreasing, less oversight is the cause for food processing plant fires , wide open borders is fear mongering. But hey don’t stop me from letting you elect the right who continuously support hiring illegals, who want to cut oversight, who don’t want to invest in infrastructure, while also cutting back the power of the EPA to help further destroy the environment, and then on top of that decrease the tax rich people pay.

I’m not only speaking of the current administration I am talking 50 years of right wing politics on widening the gap of the wealthy and middle class. Literally every time the republicans are in office the decrease oversight and reduce taxes for the rich , this isn’t up to conjecture it is straight up fact.

Equipment made now will be a huge issue in the future. When all this fancy new equipment hits the 20-year-old mark, when the small farmer can actually afford to buy it, will they be able to fix it?
Look at John Deere. They have everything locked down so tight that you can't fix anything, and have to go to a dealer to get it fixed. Most small farmers can't afford to pay dealership rates for repairs. It's been a couple of years, but I was quoted $225 an hour for shop rate, minimum $1000 if they make a service call. Or, will John Deere even support that piece of equipment in 20 years? Since everything so tightly integrated, you won't be able to use 3rd party parts. If you do, John Deere can, and has, refused to work on equipment. Essentially bricking your $100k+ piece of equipment.

This. People can spin it into some global conspiracy, but the reality is plain. Decades of crony capitalism has lead to these corporations wing able to squeeze out competition and restructure a multitude of industries into oligopolies or monopolies.

There was a candidate in 2016 and 2020 who wanted to act on stuff like this. Of course he was “socialist” so all the same people banging on about Bill Gates and Lizard people didn’t care what he had to say
