plus i felt like a cripple for a good 4-5 days after working out with LA, dem DOMS
 
going to start a 2 day a week training regime tomorrow, should be able to hold myself to that

Good point.

I just did a 9k run in about 55 minutes. Yesterday I did 8x3 squats at 205lbs, some bench, a few rows and some clean and jerk practice.

Running helps to reduce your body fat levels, allowing your biceps, calves and other major muscle groups to look more jakt. So it is important GPP/assistance.
