Here are the major results of regional US MMA between December 19th-January 11th. Rankings have also been updated.
Not much activity the past two weeks. There was a few marquee fights that took place. While he wasn't included in the rankings, Roger Huerta returned against fellow UFC veteran Hayder Hassan and won by DQ. Seo Hee Ham defeated Jinh Yu Frey for the Road FC Atomweight Title which caused Jinh Yu to slip from the #1 Female ranking to #3. It's a tough loss but Ham is an elite Atomweight. TUF veteran Cory Hendricks made his return for ACB and spoiled the Light Heavyweight debut of slipping UFC vet Konstantin Erokhin. He'll be one to watch out for at 205 in the future. Justin Frazier brought his record to 2-0 in 2017 after making his return after 3 years away from the sport. He defeated Parnell Davis with a Forearm Choke and moved into the top 5. Finally, Kevin Holland defended his XKO Middleweight crown. This is the first time Holland has had a chance to defend his title since winning it in 2016. He's gone 4-1 in MMA (2-0 in Muay Thai) since then and also won the XKO Welterweight Title.
Most Signable Fighter: Kevin Holland (11-3) - Holland is only 25 years old and has made vast improvements in his game his making his pro debut. Early in his career, he took losses to renowned BJJ Black Belt and Bellator Contender Rafael Lovato Jr (7-0) and Fight Nights Contender Ramil Mustapayev (9-1). Since those losses, he's gone 7-1 in MMA with his only other loss to Bellator vet/LFA Contender Curtis Millender (13-3). Lovato Jr. is the only person whose been able to finish Holland.
Resume: UFC prospect Geoffrey Neal (8-2) who will make his UFC debut after beating Chase Waldon on Dana White's Contender Series, Former KOTC Champion David Gomez (17-10), and Grady Hurley (14-2) who Holland handed his first defeat since 2002 (Hurley spent 12 years away from the sport between 2002-2014). Holland is a 2 Division XKO Champion and has been very active the past couple years.
